Original – Thelephora palmata is a species of clavarioid fungus found in the Americas, Europe and Asia. It is commonly known as the stinking earthfan, because of its strong smell.

Reason: Stunning shot of a fungus known for its strong smell- nicely composed, good colours and interesting textures.

- I strongly disagree. As long as you have some conception of the size of moss, the scale here is pretty clear. It's very similar in this regard to the vast majority of our fungal photographs, and I really struggle to see how it could be done much differently.
