File:Paul E. Kingston.jpg edit

While it is normally possible to obtain a photograph of living people, this image existence has already been discusses and the result was Keep, . See the {{ffd|log=2011 November 17}} tag. This image falls under the No free equivalent and An image of someone who remains alive, but could not be duplicated today rules. When you upload images of living people Wikipedia automatically adds a "{{AutoReplaceable fair use people}}" tag and you are required to justify the upload. I did this and per Administrator User:Explicit is image is still "Not Replaceable" despite his being alive. See File_talk:Paul_E._Kingston.jpg for justification. --ARTEST4ECHO (talk/contribs) 19:08, 17 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

I personally believe it would not be that difficult to photograph Kingston, compared to some individuals. We had a free picture of Osama bin Laden when he was alive. I'm sure there are other photographs of Kingston around. That template is inappropriate - there has not been a formal "files for deletion" discussion of the photograph. --Xijky (talk) 19:15, 17 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

FPC Closures edit

Hi Xijky! Just noticed you've closed a few Featured Picture Candidates. Thanks for helping out! Just to let you know, I created a script that automates the majority of the edits done during the process: User:Jujutacular/closeFPC. If you do the edits by hand, make sure to keep the formatting the same (ie [1] [2]). Otherwise everything looked good! Let me know if you have any questions about the script. Thanks again, Jujutacular talk 22:17, 19 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Ok, thank you. I'll make sure I keep the formatting as I found it in the future ! --Xijky (talk) 22:29, 19 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Reported to ANI edit

Your behaviour at UKIP has been reported to the ANI board. You may defend yourself here

Your 3RR report edit

You recently filed a report at WP:AN3#User:Alexandre8 reported by Xijky (talk) (Result: ). Please be aware that some of the reverts you list by Alexandre8 can be justified as exemptions of WP:3RR under the BLP clause. For instance, this edit by Alexandre8 which removes a charge that Nigel Farage made racial slurs. The charge against Farage can be argued to be badly sourced. This puts you in the position of breaking 3RR yourself, while the reverts by your opponents are in many cases permitted by our policy. If you respond at the noticeboard and promise to stop reverting the article for seven days you may be able to avoid sanctions. Thank you, EdJohnston (talk) 16:05, 26 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Alexandre8 has still broken the three-revert rule by making 6 reverts in 24 hours if that revert is discounted. I would argue that the Mail is not an unreasonable source to use. The article did not state that Farage did make those statements, but that it had been reported he had done so, which can be uncontroversially verified through the Mail source. It's verifiable through the Guardian too - see [3]. I'm not breaking the three revert rule. Almost every time I have been reverted, I have attempted to discuss the issue on the talk page of the article, or refactored my additions to the article so that they might be acceptable to other contributors. Alexandre8 is repeatedly reverting addition of material simply because it is critical of UKIP. --Xijky (talk) 16:08, 26 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Edit warring at UK Independence Party edit

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for edit warring, as you did at UK Independence Party. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.

The complete report of this case is at WP:AN3#User:Alexandre8 reported by Xijky (Result: 24h to submitter). EdJohnston (talk) 16:48, 26 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

The consensus at the talk page and among other contributors was with my reverts. Alexandre violated the 3rr rule as well and it is partisan to chose to block me and not him simply because I inserted the "niggers" quote, which can be reliably sourced. I do not think it is within your discretion to pick sides in this dispute.

Decline reason:

You don't edit-war. Period. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 18:21, 26 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

  • Psst... two tips: (1) in an unblock request, focusing on your actions usually works better than pointing out others' actions. (2) You may wish to read this,[4] where you will note that your rationale is not in the list of exemptions for violating 3RR/WAR. Instead, as noted elsewhere, some form of WP:DR is the correct route. Hope these tips help. Best, Rob ROBERTMFROMLI | TK/CN 17:55, 26 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
