  • Oppose The history section should be removed as too comprehensive and the Simpsons is a simple show. The lead should be about 4 paragraphs long and should mention briefly the recordings. For example the first paragraph mainly chronicles their life, but not the recordings. Off-topic comments can be found throughout the text. Regards.--Kürbis (✔) 11:32, 8 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • The Simpsons is "a simple show"? What are you talking about? This is a good summary of all the Simpsons music releases, that doesn't go into too much detail (the details belong in the articles for the different releases).       • Discographies should just summarize the most important content about the recordings. You have a lead plus a large section. For example, most of the content is rather about the recording histories of each albums. You could easily trim it down. I am striking my oppose so others can judge whether the text is not too large.         • But this isn't an ordinary discography. Discographies for actual artists wouldn't need history sections because that information is already in their own articles. The Simpsons doesn't have an article that talks about the history of all its music releases. But maybe this is just my opinion. If others agree with you than I'll consider shortening the article.   • I agree with TBrandley and Theleftorium, the history section should remain, as is stated this is not a conventional discography, so it should remain.
  • The main is that tables do not follow WP:DISCOGSTYLE, and therefore do not meet MOS:DTT and WP:ACCESS, this is the most pressing issue

How about "The album featured much of the work of the show's composer Alf Clausen, who has co-written, arranged, produced, and conducted all music that is used on the show."
  • After "It reached number one on the singles charts in Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, Norway, and the United Kingdom" - That's a ton of refs. Can they be combined somehow?
    • I removed the refs for New Zealand and Norway, as those chart positions are verified by the Australian source (see [2]). I hope three refs in a row are okay because I don't think there's anything else that can be done. Theleftorium (talk) 10:11, 16 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • "quickly wanted to produce a follow-up album" - "wanted to quickly produce a follow-up album" or something similar. Was his wanting quick, or did he want the production to be quick?
  • "and latest album" - That should be avoided per WP:DATED unless you use "as of"
  • After "was popular and appeared on the singles charts in several countries, reaching number three in Ireland, eight in New Zealand, 14 in Norway, 23 in the United Kingdom, and 53 in Sweden." also has a pile-up, as does "became a top-twenty hit in Ireland and the United Kingdom."
    • I removed the refs for Norway and Sweden, as those chart positions are verified by the New Zealand source (see [3]). I hope three refs in a row are okay because I don't think there's anything else that can be done. That last sentence you mentioned has been reduced to two refs.   • Where are the release dates referenced, and for which country/countries are they applicable?

  • Support looks good. I would add a sentence on The Simpsons Theme which is probably the best known song in the scope of the topic. There should also be a sentence on "The Streets of Springfield" since it does not have an article and nobody would have any what is up with it.     • Thanks for the support, but I disagree about your comments. The theme song hasn't been released as a single (other than the Green Day cover), and so it doesn't belong here. "The Streets of Springfield" never charted and hasn't received any coverage in reliable sources such as magazines, newspapers and books; if people want to find out more about it they can follow the footnote to AllMusic, but the song is way too unimportant to be mentioned in the history section (just like the compilation album).
