I am nominating this for featured list because... this is a comprehensive list of all of Steps songs. Same vein as many of my previous song list nominations. As they were most active between 1997-2001, it's been difficult to source some info but I've tried my best to make do with the relatively little there is compared to 2012-2017. I believe it a smart, presentable, clean cut list worthy of being featured.  — Calvin999 09:19, 29 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comments from Golbez:
    • I would sort the B-sides in album titles by what they're the B-side of, rather than all sorting under "B". So "B-side to "Chain Reaction"" would sort next to Chain Reaction. Likewise, "Single release only" should just sort at the top or bottom of the list, rather than with "S".
    • Refs don't need to be sortable.

      • Golbez, the acoustic version of Scared of the Dark is included on their forthcoming deluxe edition edition of their most recent album, should I include it as a song from the re-issue as opposed to 'Single release only' which is was in April as a standalone download to the non-acoustic single?   • "The British group Steps" I would make an attempt to include a genre here for those who aren't aware of the work of Steps...
    • I've never done that for the other song lists I've done, or been asked to actually. It's difficult to find many FL reliable sources which categorically say they are an X band in terms of genre, and if I include one, it will only be subject to constant changes by IPs and other low level users to disagree with it. I think including nationality is enough, we don't tend to include genres in artist bios for example. I wouldn't have thought someone who isn't aware of them would intentionally look for and find this list anyway.  — Calvin999
  • No need for full stop on table caption.
  • "a Steps band member(s)" awkward, maybe "one or more Steps band members".
    • I see what you're saying, but there's only one song where more than one of the band members co-wrote together.   • Some songs were released as B-sides which this doesn't qualify as an "album". Perhaps change the column title to "Release".
    • The majority of their songs were on albums. Only a couple of album cuts were included as a B-side. Some B-sides were non-singles from albums. I've changed it to Album/B-side.  — Calvin999
  • Most "Songs recorded by..." featured lists I've seen don't include the length of the song. To me it's unneeded.

You got it. I've seen a couple lists that don't have the length and in my recently promoted list, I was told to remove the lengths. But if that's how you've done it, then leave it be.
  • If you're sorting by song title, it needs rearranging. You have songs beginning with "A" sorted corrected but they're in the wrong spot. Move them to the correct spots, such as move "A House is Not a Home" down to the H's.
    • They are meant to be entered by the first syllable, but sort under the following word if preceded/started with a 'A' etc. This is how I've done it on all of the song lists I've written and they are all featured.  — Calvin999
If that's the way you've done it then you're absolutely good.
  • You also don't need (pictured) in every picture. It's implied that the people described in the captions are in the photos.
