Wikipedia:Categories for deletion/Long Hair people

Originally listed for deletion on January 20, 2005. Consensus was to delete. RedWolf 00:55, Jan 28, 2005 (UTC)

What about people who had different haircuts during different periods of their life? What about historical periods when almost everybody wore long hair? Does using a long wig qualify? Clearly an unmaintainable and less than useful category (and misnamed in any case). / up+land 09:57, 20 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Agree with delete, for the above reasons and for the reasons too many people change their hairdos throughout their lives. Mandel 16:13, Jan 20, 2005 (UTC)
What a worthless category. Delete. Postdlf 16:57, 20 Jan 2005 (UTC)
Delete. Umm, if we won't delete it, the short haired people are going to think they have been discriminated against. Oy, I definite agree this is a worthless one. RedWolf 00:54, Jan 21, 2005 (UTC)
Unless this category is used specifically for people known for having long hair (as appears to be the case with people like Crystal Gayle) its pointless, in either case i think this belongs as a List of people famous for their hair or something like that. Delete  ALKIVAR 03:22, 21 Jan 2005 (UTC)
  • As a person with long hair, I am, of course, deeply offended that this has been listed for deletion. However, I will admit defeat and declare that this should really be deleted. Seriously, now. (A list wouldn't be a bad idea, though. With photographs.) -Aranel ("Sarah") 03:37, 21 Jan 2005 (UTC)
  • Delete on the grounds that the spelling is wrong: it should be Category:Long-haired people.  ;-) —Mike 04:33, Jan 21, 2005 (UTC)
  • Delete. Silly category. -Willmcw 18:23, 21 Jan 2005 (UTC)
  • Delete. As dumb as the pregnant women category.Lokifer 01:55, 22 Jan 2005 (UTC)
  • Delete, but I have to wonder whether the original idea of this category got lost somewhere. One of the two articles in it is the Chinese activist known as Long Hair. Grutness|hello? 04:20, 22 Jan 2005 (UTC)
