Maps edit

Thanks for the message on my talk page. That map had been bugging me for a while, as do the different attempts at mapping the Yukon River. Luckily, a few years ago, I had laboriously traced a map from the Milepost, and scanned it as a bitmap for a report I was working on. I remembered it last night, so I fixed it and "painted" the Alaska Highway red. But there's gotta be an easier way. Wikiproject Alaska desperately needs a good mapmaker for the other roads and for the rivers, as does the Yukon. Luigizanasi 17:41, 24 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Mark Begich edit

I noticed that you recently mentioned in the Mark Begich article that he ran unsuccessfully for Anchorage Mayor in 1994. I was wondering if you know the election results from that race, for inclusion in the article's "Election history" section. --TommyBoy 01:57, 27 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

I have posted a note on Talk:Mark Begich regarding my question. --TommyBoy 02:24, 27 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Geo landmarks into borough/city cats? edit

Hi Zero, Just a question for your expertise! Should we categorize geographic landmarks into the boroughs of which they fall into. I'm creating stub after stub of geographic landmarks and it seems like it might defeat the purpose but let me know what you think...Jarfingle 18:46, 3 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Untagged image edit

An image you uploaded, Image:Mudau coa.jpg, was tagged with the {{coatofarms}} copyright tag. This tag was deleted because it does not actually specify the copyright status of the image. The image may need a more accurate copyright tag, or it may need to be deleted. If the image portrays a seal or emblem, it should be tagged as {{seal}}. If you have any questions, ask them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. -- 15:43, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

WikiProject Alaska: recent changes edit

I see that you still seem to be on a break, but in case you check in:

I saw on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Alaska/Alaska recent changes that you had at one point last year figured out a fairly quick way to update the list of pages for the Alaska recent changes. It seems that an update to the recent changes page hasn't happened in quite some time, & I'm willing to take up the task -- but I'd rather not have to reinvent the wheel. Would you mind detailing out the methodology you used for me, & I will gladly take up the task? Did you actually have to manually page through all of Category:WikiProject Alaska articles, or was there some quicker way? Thanks in advance for any assistance you can give. --Yksin 22:16, 5 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Borough categories edit

I'm contacting you because I see you have created some Alaskan 'borough' catgeories and given them their proper names. There is currently a heated debate with regards to English geography relating to the borough category names. Someone has been naming the categories after the main town in them, which covers a different area to the borough itself. Some of us believe it should be unambiguous so the full borough name should be used. It would be welcome if you could lend us your vote for a rename at: Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2007_June_9#Oldham. Thanks. 88.104.64.157 16:43, 12 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
