Jar of Fools edit

Thanks for getting back to me. In a nutshell, Wikipedia defines notability as "A topic is notable if it has been the subject of at least one substantial or multiple, non-trivial published works from sources that are reliable and independent of the subject and of each other." In this case, it might include reviews from major magazines or newspapers, or having the strip reproduced ion the same.

I encourage you to review the notability guidelines at Wikipedia:notability. There may be more there that is of assistance to you. Good luck, and let me know when you have revised your article so I can take a look at it. Dennitalk 18:24, 25 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • The changes you have made do indeed establish notability. Nice work on getting those in. AFAIC, this article is solid. Dennitalk 05:00, 26 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

The Clouds Above edit

Well spotted. What happened was I as editing the categories, spotted the Amazon links which I removed (following WP:EL) and didn't want to leave the section empty so I tagged it. As you say it has a number of good references so there is no real need for the empty section so I've removed it. If anything pops up that suitable for the external section someone can restart the section. Cheers. (Emperor 14:57, 18 September 2007 (UTC))Reply

Need help with comics page edit

I have ticked someone off. Need help with restoring page on comic artist Ashley Wood. Editor has pegged me as being non-neutral source (which is fine) but now he's deleting things and adding banners. Could you please take look? Bambaland 03:09, 22 September 2007 (UTC)bambalandBambaland 03:09, 22 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Cityofglass.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Cityofglass.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 12:22, 26 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link fixing one-day contest edit

I have decided to put on a mini-contest within the November 2013 monthly disambiguation contest, on Saturday, November 23 (UTC). I will personally give a $20 Amazon.com gift card to the disambiguator who fixes the most links on that server-day (see the project page for details on scoring points). Since we are not geared up to do an automated count for that day, at 00:00, 23 November 2013 (UTC) (which is 7:00 PM on November 22, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the project page leaderboard. I will presume that anyone who is not already listed on the leaderboard has precisely nine edits. At 01:00, 24 November 2013 (UTC) (8:00 PM on November 23, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the leaderboard at that time (the extra hour is to give the board time to update), and I will determine from that who our winner is. I will credit links fixed by turning a WP:DABCONCEPT page into an article, but you'll have to let me know me that you did so. Here's to a fun contest. Note that according to the Daily Disambig, we currently have under 256,000 disambiguation links to be fixed. If everyone in the disambiguation link fixers category were to fix 500 links, we would have them all done - so aim high! Cheers! bd2412 T 02:21, 18 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of File:Dec-15 (1).JPG edit

The file File:Dec-15 (1).JPG has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Orphaned image with no foreseeable encyclopedic use.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
