You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Universe. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Begoon 05:41, 24 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Kazakhstan, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Kazakhstani (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

edit

Hello, Xindeho. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Sea of blue - Perth, Western Australia

edit

Regarding [1][2], [3][4], and numerous other similar edits... Please have a look at MOS:SEAOFBLUE which recommends against multiple adjacent links such as "Perth, Western Australia", which is why I have been reverting/re-merging them to "Perth, Western Australia". ... and again, [5], [6] etc.
Please discuss, if you disagree with my interpretation of MOS:SEAOFBLUE. Mitch Ames (talk) 06:24, 30 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

I communicated with FIVB

edit

Dear sir

I Communicated with FIVB and they reply below and they confirmed to me that USSR medals and RUS are combined together. so you should correct the medal tables based on FIVB(the official body of volleyball).

Quote

"Dear Mohamed, Thank you for your interest in volleyball. Indeed, the titles and medals won by the USSR are included in the total winnings of the Russian National Team. I hope this helps.

With kind regards,

Mr. Larry CARREL FIVB Volleyball Project Manager FEDERATION INTERNATIONALE DE VOLLEYBALL « Château Les Tourelles » Edouard-Sandoz 2-4 1006 Lausanne/Switzerland Tel. +41 21 345 35 35 Fax +41 21 345 35 45 larry.carrel@fivb.com www.fivb.com"

Hi Mohamed, thank you for your message. Although it doesn't seem fair to the other former USSR member states, but since the FIVB is the official governing body of international volleyball, I will make those changes accordingly. By the way, what about the medals and titles won by Czechoslovakia, East Germany, West Germany, the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia/Serbia and Montenegro? Would the Czech Republic, Germany and Serbia inherit all their medals and titles too? In my opinion, other than Germany inheriting West Germany's medals and titles, all the other inheritances would be considered unfair as they have ignored the contributions from the other former member states of these countries. A double inheritance from East Germany's medals and titles to the unified Germany would also be considered unfair. Xindeho (talk) 05:50, 20 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Thanks mate. It's normal for people to be confused about them, even for us Perthlings, it is not easy to distinguish them. Xindeho (talk) 13:19, 19 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
the outsider who would not even know where australia is - hehehe i still remember the editor who thought tasmania is another contry There was an editor some years back who had the bureaucratic distinction on the top of his head between the three - just watches but never joins in now - the few perthlings who turn up might have an idea ... if they are around... Hi, please see my comments at Talk:World Geographical Scheme for Recording Plant Distributions. Peter coxhead (talk) 10:37, 4 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi Peter, thank you for your clarification. I tried to align those WGSRPD regions with geographical regions so general readers would have a better understanding of where these WGSRPD regions are. I will carefully avoid linking them to incorrect regions and state the differences in a sidenote. Xindeho (talk) 12:48, 4 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. It's unfortunate that the creators of the WGSRPD used names for divisions in a way that is sometimes very different from the 'normal' use ("Eastern Asia" is perhaps the most striking difference). This does cause problems for new plant editors, who can easily in good faith add the wrong "Category:Flora of ..." to an article. My preference is very much to try to link to somewhere that has a map that shows the exact WGSRPD area. Anything else risks adding to the existing confusion.
