Liverpool/Merseyside derby edit

Sorry you didn't like my move to 'Liverpool derby', I have no connection with the city but as a football fan since late 70's that's what I've usually heard it called. I don't know if you're old enough to know this but does 'Merseyside derby' go back before creation of Merseyside as a county in 1974? Haldraper (talk) 18:50, 15 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Wow, under 60 seconds revert. Not to sure why truth is vandalism. Ash had been kicked off a TV show after her surgery and worked less than before she contracted MRSA. Good to see you defending someone who cost the NHS £5 million. Xenomorph1984 (talk) 21:31, 8 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Levante promotion edit

It is quite simple to explain. Let us look at the head to head between Betis, Hércules and Levante. It is like a league between the three teams:

For Levante: it is 6 points between them (+ 1 or 3 more if they beat Betis) For Hércules: it is 7 points. For Betis: it is 1 point. (They only drew against Hércules). So even if Betis wins, it means they have 4 points overall, whereas Levante would have 6 points. Therefore Levante has promoted. Qampunen (talk) 20:22, 13 June 2010 (UTC)

Thank you, I was unaware that it counted as a mini league. I thought it was simply each club head to head. 20:47, 13 June 2010 (UTC)

Molde FK - List of managers. edit

Hey there. Great contribution to this page, though I wonder where you get the data from? Is it only competitive matches, or including friendlies? The last couple of weeks, I have been trying to improve this page by adding inline references, so if you could add your references, it would be great! Mentoz86 (talk) 13:12, 1 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi Mentoz86, I used soccerway.com by selected Molde FK and going back through the fixtures. It includes all league, cup and European games. Friendlies are not included. Fixtures which went to extra time or penalties are included as a win or loss rather than a draw. Please note that there was some guess work with regards the actual dates managers started. I was under the impression that out of the ones I listed only Rosler took over during the season so all others are listed from start to end of seasons which I believe is correct. Xenomorph1984 (talk) 17:00, 1 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

OK - Great! Do you mind adding the reference? Mentoz86 (talk) 09:51, 6 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Madeira derby edit

Hi! Thanks to you too. Unfortunately there no data of the early 80's on footballzz.co.uk. In fact, there is a problem finding sources with the data, namely before 1984. In the case of CS Marítimo, I know the results because I’m a supporter of the club and I have the data of the derbies in the national competitions. I know the results of the seasons, but I don’t have the dates of the games and the attendances. Anyway you could find the data, namely in the derby between CS Marítimo vs. CF União in https://www.facebook.com/pages/Hist%C3%B3ria-do-Futebol-em-Portugal/496146053794820.CSM.80 (talk) 17:43, 13 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

North Belfast derby edit

Hi Xenomorph, good work on the North Belfast derby page with the attendances and goalscorers sections! The scorers you are looking for from the 3-0 game on 1st April 1997 were Stephen Baxter with two, and I am unsure of the other goalscorer though should be able to find out soon. I've added Baxter's goals into the goalscorers section as well as updating with today's result, keep up the good work! Andygray110 (talk) 17:01, 26 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi there a bit more info on the above, I have a program from the Crusaders v Coleraine game played on 19 April, this gives Baxter as the goalscorer of both goals. In addition, he had scored 30 goals that season, two less would take him down to 28 and put Hunter up to 25 rather than 23. I should be able to verify this if I get hold of a Malcolm Brodie yearbook in the near future.

The two fixtures from 1991-92, I have the Crues goalscorers only:

  • 16 November 1991 (CRU 5-1 CLI) Scorers: Stephen Stewart, Jimmy Gardiner, Roddy Collins, Sid Burrows, Tommy Parker
  • 29 February 1992 (CLI 2-2 CRU) Scorers: Roddy Collins, Sid Burrows

I also have Crues goalscorers from the following years (no Cliftonville sorry):

  • 17 September 1949 (CLI 2-2 CRU, Ulster Cup) Scorers: John McAuley, Leo McGuigan
  • 6 March 1954 (CRU 4-0 CLI, Shield) Scorers: Curry Mulholland (2), Jimmy Shields, George Casement
  • 22 November 1975 (CLI 0-2 CRU, League) Scorers: John McPolin, Bobby McQuillan
  • 24 January 1976 (CRU 4-1 CLI, League) Scorers: Paul Kirk (3), Ronnie McAteer
  • 20 November 1976 (CRU 6-2 CLI, League) Scorers: Paul Kirk (2), Drew Cooke (2), Steve Hanvey, Rab Gillespie
  • 24 September 1977 (CLI 0-2 CRU, Ulster Cup) Scorers: Vic Hooks, Rab Strain
  • 28 January 1978 (CRU 2-2 CLI, League) Scorers: Ronnie McAteer, Frankie McArdle
  • 23 September 1978 (CRU 1-1 CLI, Ulster Cup) Scorer: Roy Patterson
  • 28 October 1978 (CRU 1-1 CLI, Gold Cup) Scorer: Ronnie McAteer
  • 25 November 1978 (CRU 2-2 CLI, League) Scorers: Ronnie McAteer (2)
  • 21 August 1979 (CRU 1-1 CLI, Ulster Cup) Scorer: Rab Gillespie
  • 19 August 1980 (CLI 1-3 CRU, Ulster Cup) Scorers: Gareth Cromie, Sean Byrne, ?
  • 25 August 1984 (CLI 1-3 CRU, Gold Cup) Scorers: Robbie Barr (2), Sid Burrows
  • 26 January 1985 (CRU 3-2 CLI, League) Scorers: Leo Flanagan, Robbie Barr (2)
  • 12 October 1985 (CRU 3-1 CLI, Gold Cup) Scorers: Albert Holden, Billy Totten, Gary Hillis
  • 15 January 1986 (CRU 2-1 CLI, League) Scorers: Pat McCoy, Kirk Hunter
  • 29 April 1986 (CLI 1-1 CRU, League) Scorer: Ronnie McCullough
  • 11 October 1986 (CLI 2-1 CRU, League) Scorer: Albert Holden
  • 3 January 1987 (CRU 3-2 CLI, League) Scorers: Kirk Hunter (3)
  • 19 December 1987 (CRU 2-0 CLI, League) Scorers: Colin McCurdy (2)
  • 14 March 1989 (CRU 1-2 CLI, League) Scorer: Michael Cash

I also have a few team line-ups you might find interesting:

  • 30 January 1965
    • Crusaders: O'Kane, Patterson, Glendinning, Lewis, Campbell, Pavis, Callendar, McNeill, Hale, Weatherup, Wilson
    • Cliftonville: Beckett, French, Anderson, J Walker, Fitzsimmons, Grimason, (Jackie!) Fullerton, Rankin, D Walker, Bingham, Caul
  • 18 April 1990
    • Crusaders: Bobby Brown, Paul McBride, Stephen Stewart, Roy Walker, Michael Cash, Derek Donaghy, Albert Holden, Jackie Burrows, David Armstrong, Glenn Hunter, Stephen Johnston, Subs: Joey McClure, David Mallon
    • Cliftonville: Paul Prentice, Mickey Donnelly, Kieran Loughran, John Muldoon, Wesley Hanna, Marty McCoy, Sean O'Kane, Jim McFadden, Billy Drake, Tommy Breslin, Peter Murray, Subs: Paul Murnin, Michael McDonald

Hope you find this interesting, if you have any info on goalscorers in any game for either side could you let me know the details? If I get any more I'll throw them your way too

Andygray110 (talk) 20:27, 21 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Many thanks Andygray110, unfortunately I lost everything I'd collected thanks to a Windows update! Shouldn't be to hard to collect again. I'll post everything to the North Belfast derby talk page. That way if someone has two goals and then we find more data it can be added with the rest etc.

Page is looking great, the data collected is remarkable considering its a semi-professional league with very little coverage. I'm wondering if old newspaper archives might have reports or summaries with goalscorers? I checked an online archive but didn't find much. Next time I'm in Belfast I might go over to the central library and look through some newspaper archives. Xenomorph1984 (talk) 20:00, 21 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

North Belfast derby goalscorers edit

Great work on getting all the goalscorers from 1983-84! Did you manage to look through the archives in the end?

Would you be able to let me know the scorers you have from the following years:

1983-84, 1989-90, 1990-91, 1993-94, 29 April 1995

If you get a chance to let me know any of those that would be so much appreciated!

Andygray110 (talk) 01:28, 30 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Yes that would be great thank you! Email is andygray110@hotmail.com, if you need any info on anything please ask and I'll look through what I have, I haven't managed to get everything consolidated onto one document as yet.

The players with the ??? are Tommy Breslin (now current Cliftonville manager!) and Steven Livingstone. You're correct about Sid Burrows, he was at Linfield then and didn't return to Crusaders until August 1991. It must have been his brother Jackie Burrows who scored the goal in April 1990.

Albert Holden did indeed play for both clubs, he was actually at Cliftonville in 82/83 and scored againt Crusaders (see below)! Also I noticed Mark O'Neill scored for the Reds on 29 April 1995; he would also play for both clubs. He was at the Crues for a couple of months during the 1999/2000 season, played seven games and scored once.

I've also managed to find a few more Cliftonville goalscorers for games in the 1970s and 80s which you might find interesting:

  • 1975-76
    • 18.10.1975 CLI 1 - 0 CRU Davy McConnell (City Cup)
    • 04.05.1976 CRU 4 - 1 CLI Billy Patterson (County Antrim Shield)
  • 1976-77
    • 16.10.1976 CRU 0 - 3 CLI John Platt, Tommy Craig, Walter McFarland o.g. (Gold Cup)
    • 20.11.1976 CRU 6 - 2 CLI Ciaran McCurry, Gerry O'Kane (League)
  • 1977-78
    • 22.10.1977 CLI 2 - 1 CRU John Hewitt (2) (Gold Cup)
    • 26.11.1977 CLI 1 - 0 CRU John Platt (League)
    • 28.01.1978 CRU 2 - 2 CLI Eamonn Largey, John Platt (League)
  • 1978-79
    • 23.09.1978 CLI 1 - 1 CRU Barney Bowers (Ulster Cup)
    • 28.10.1978 CRU 1 - 1 CLI John Platt (Gold Cup)
    • 25.11.1978 CRU 2 - 2 CLI John Platt, Peter McCusker (League)
    • 10.01.1979 CLI 1 - 0 CRU John Platt (League)
    • 14.05.1979 CRU 0 - 0 CLI 1-3 to Cliftonville on pens. Scorers: Bell, Mills, McCusker (County Antrim Shield)
  • 1979-80
    • 21.08.1979 CRU 1 - 1 CLI Walter Mills (Ulster Cup)
  • 1980-81
    • 19.08.1980 CLI 1 - 3 CRU Peter McCusker (Ulster Cup)
  • 1981-82
    • 19.09.1981 CLI 1 - 1 CRU Gary Higgins (Ulster Cup)
    • 07.11.1981 CLI 1 - 1 CRU Jim Alexander (Gold Cup)
    • 10.04.1982 CRU 2 - 1 CLI Brendan Tully (League)
  • 1982-83
    • 31.08.1982 CRU 1 - 1 CLI Albert Holden (Gold Cup)
    • 03.01.1983 CRU 2 - 1 CLI Eddie Patterson (League)

Hope these are of some use to you, incidentally you were right about 1 April 1997, it was Glenn Hunter who scored both these goals as opposed to Baxter. Andygray110 (talk) 01:45, 31 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

The team that plays in the NPL is Tigers FC, which is actually now a partnership between two clubs, Cooma FC and Brindabella Blues. See here. It is separate to and not fully integrated with either of the two clubs. So its probably technically wrong to refer to them as either just Cooma or as Cooma Tigers - however the senior team is based out of Cooma. They are now referred to in the press as Cooma Tigers see Canberra Times, and foxsportspulse as well. Ive also changed the template for 2015 that is used for them to make that name Cooma Tigers Matilda Maniac (talk) 23:38, 13 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

September 2016 edit

Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did to Darren Kelly. This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Mattythewhite (talk) 20:16, 14 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

To start with he's managed 8 games this season with 4 wins and 4 defeats. http://uk.soccerway.com/teams/england/hyde-united-fc/4749/ Why did you delete this? Seeing that it was you who originally added his stats with Hyde for last season despite your soccerbase source not even listing those stats or him even being manager of Hyde! http://www.soccerbase.com/managers/manager.sd?manager_id=3551 Obviously like you I used common sense of seeing when he was appointed and adding in the results from then on myself.

Secondly fair enough if PWDL is standard, I wasn't aware that GF and GA were not to be included. However I took the GF GA from the Pep Guardiola page, perhaps you should go there are delete that content as well if its not PWDL standard and threaten people there with blocking as well? Derby della Lanterna edit

Hi there. If you look at the dates, they are not consistent year to year. Even the earlier years some put the earlier game first and the later game second, and some do the opposite. The first game played of the season would make most sense on the left column. Would you mind fixing this if you have time? If not I'll have to do it. Regards, Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 23:53, 11 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Nevermind, it's because one column is Genoa vs Sampdoria and the other Sampdoria vs Genoa. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 23:58, 11 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Anderlecht vs Club Brugge rivalry moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Anderlecht vs Club Brugge rivalry, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. League Cup edit

Utd played 6 league cup games, you added 5? Dundee played 6 too if you include the walkover win they got.

Might need to redo it for accuracy, I created these tables and made sure they were correct. Onedeuce (talk) 00:14, 25 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Apologies, I was using soccerway and didn't see the earlier fixture. I see you have added the correct ones I missed (Dundee 4-0 Brora and Kelty 0-1 United) Xenomorph1984 (talk) 20:26, 25 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
