AfD nomination of Partners (2009 film)

edit

I have nominated Partners (2009 film), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Partners (2009 film). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. File source problem with File:HPIM1038.jpg

edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:HPIM1038.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 22:09, 29 August 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. B (talk) 22:09, 29 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Your exclusion of Egypt from the Ancient Near East is unsourced and looks like original research. Please discuss this matter on the article's talk page and seek consensus, instead of asserting it unilaterally again. Thank you. Hertz1888 (talk) 03:20, 29 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

edit

If you must copy from other articles (often a bad idea), you have to attribute the original article in the summary field or else you are breaking our licenses - do it like this: "copied from [[name of article]]". You also need to make sure you copy from edit mode so that you keep the references. I've reverted your recent edits because of this. Try again if you want to following what I've just said. Thanks. Dougweller (talk) 08:24, 29 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please stop doing this, I see you've done it again, in this case I also think some of the material you have copied is not relevant to the article (but that is just an editorial dispute rather than a violation of copyright). Thanks. Dougweller (talk) 10:42, 29 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
Last chance. Please fix your copyright violations as I suggest above. If you don't, I can't see what else I can do but block you. I note that your response on my talk page doesn't deal with this at all. Dougweller (talk) 15:50, 29 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Non-free rationale for File:AtaqeloulaStele.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:AtaqeloulaStele.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 18:06, 1 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

About your edits on the "Meroitic" Language article...

edit

Sorry, my tablet saved the edit before I could give a suitable answer.

My answer was this, I stated that the Nubian homeland is presumably in Darfur as many linguists posit. I said nothing about the whole of Nilo-Saharan.

"Meroitic" should be left "Unclassified" until a majority of linguists are convinced of an Afroasiatic affiliation. This is the rule.

Further, "Meroitic" cannot be classified as Cushitic. It evidences little if anything in common with Cushitic lexically or morphologically. Certain types of Cushitic have zoonyms in common with "Meroitic", but zoonyms are easily adopted. The words for "dog", "snake", "elephant", and "antelope" have a strong Afroasiatic flavor without having to engage in all of Rilly's jiggery-pokery with the phonology to make it fit Nilo-Saharan when straightforwardly it doesn't. A.Tamar Chabadi (talk) 00:17, 3 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Edit: Will post this on the talk page so everyone can see it. A.Tamar Chabadi (talk) 00:17, 3 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

I hope this finds you well. Given that you recently switched Meroitic's classification again, I wanted to support A.Tamar Chabadi's above comment: I suspect that Meroitic is, effectively, Afroasiatic, & that this will eventually be persuasively demonstrated, but this is nothing close to scholarly consensus on this matter. Most mainstream academic publications that address the issue accept Rilly's view that the language is East Sudanic, & thus Nilo-Saharan. There's a section on the Meroitic page for Classification. It would be appropriate to update that with scholarship that makes the case for Afroasiatic. But the Wikipedia page shouldn't be out-&-out claiming Afroasiatic affiliation when that's actually a minority position—even if all three of us who are debating this agree on the matter. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Cool (aesthetic), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Pan-American (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Orphaned non-free image File:AtaqeloulaStele.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:AtaqeloulaStele.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:04, 5 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Kingdom of Aksum into Ancient history. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 12:12, 21 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of File:Men 360 Waves style.jpg

edit

The file File:Men 360 Waves style.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 8 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
