Re. RfA

I've been reverting every single edit by Oo7565. Spammed the entire list of RfA's with irrelevant/awkward comments. I'm still cleaning the damage and then I'll contact that user. Please revert yourself if you want to, I don't want it to look like an edit war or something heh. :-) Regards, Húsönd 23:00, 16 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. It's good you contacted me, otherwise I probably wouldn't have noticed right away that my revert would have left the initial comment. Keep up the good work! Regards, Húsönd 23:08, 16 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Proposed format for AACS_encryption_key_controversy -thoughts. . .

Hi I noticed your recent comments on AACS encryption key controversy talk page and I wanted to invite you to comment on a proposed format change for the beginning of the article. The relavent portion on the talk page is here. Thanks. R. Baley 01:28, 17 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Prohibition

I notice you have reverted vandalism on this article. It would appear that some text in the first sentence of the second paragraph was deleted somewhere along the way (possibly during vandalism reverts). I have tried to re-insert this. Would you be so kind as to check it is now correct? Matt Adore 20:19, 19 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

American Airline destinations AfD

Thanks for coming at it from the other side! I appreciate the help. I just realized that I did indeed put the wrong nomination date in my {{oldafdfull}} templates, but you don't need to fix it; a little bit of JavaScript and it'll be easy for me to get.

My RfA

Hi Will. I'd like to thank you for your support of my RfA. It was closed at surprising 75/0/0, so I'm an admin now. MaxSem 21:55, 25 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Final Warning

Got your final warning regarding links to notable people on my web site finderface.co.uk. Was not my intention to spam, but am happy to comply to your ruling. If possible, please remove all edits(around 30) from this IP or let me know if you would like me to do this manually. Regards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.42.52.227 (talk)

Don't worry about it - I reverted them all. I suggest you take a careful look at our guideline on spamming and our external links guideline to get an idea about why we don't allow people to place lots of links to their websites in Wikipedia articles. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a mere directory of links. Thanks for the message though and I'm glad to see you're willing to comply. Regards. Will (aka Wimt) 10:09, 27 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks

Just spotted that you reverted some vandalism to my userpage. Thanks, I really appreciate it. Dave101→talk  14:02, 27 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Manchester Meetup

Hi, just getting in touch because you expressed an interest in the meetup here. Some people have expressed a view that they would be able to make it were the date moved from Fri 8 June to Sat 9 June. Obviously its now getting pretty close, so I thought a quick poll would be the best the way to find out the better day. If you're still interested, it would be great if you could say whether you can make either or both days here. Thanks, WjBscribe 16:50, 30 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Question

Um... u warned me for doing something and i dont know wut??? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 99.245.188.203 (talk)

Hey, yes five days ago I warned the IP that you are editing from following this edit which removed content from User talk:Deiz. However, if it wasn't you who made this edit, it's quite possible that it was just another user on the same IP. To avoid getting such warnings that don't apply to you in the future, you might like to consider creating an account. Regards. Will (aka Wimt) 01:22, 31 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

RfA

As you recall, Michaelas10 and I wanted to nominate you for adminship earlier, but you said you wanted to wait a month or so before accepting the nomination. I think it's been over a month now, so I'm asking again if you would like to accept an RfA nomination. Please also let Michaelas10 know of your decision. Thanks, Nishkid64 (talk) 14:47, 18 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hmmm that's weird, Wimt will realise what I mean when he reads the email I sent earlier today! Ryan Postlethwaite 14:57, 18 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Will, that's... like... 5 people. You must accept now :) – Riana ⁂ 15:00, 18 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Heh OK this is getting very humbling. I'll outline the situation as I explained to Ryan in the email I sent him in response to his earlier. Basically, starting next Saturday (26th) I have a week that is pretty much entirely exams so the chances are that I won't really be on Wikipedia much during that week. As such, I would like to wait until at least the 2nd June before going for an RfA. I do graciously accept; I just hope you don't mind waiting a couple of weeks before going for it, due to real life! As Riana says that's now 5 people that have approached me over it and I'm really indebted to every one of you that you think me a worthy candidate for adminship. It does also raise a bit of a logistical issue but I'm sure that won't be too much of a problem. Again, thank you everyone so much for your faith in me. Will (aka Wimt) 15:30, 18 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
What is this real life you speak of? Does it come in a can? – Riana ⁂ 14:47, 19 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
No, I'm pretty sure it comes in 2 liter bottles. ~ ΜΛGиυs ΛΠιмυМ ≈ √∞ 23:26, 3 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hello, and...

Hello Wimt! I've never really met you properly before, but I've seen you in full blast operation while on RC Patrol, and you really do put lots of effort into thwarting those vandals. I for one, am very grateful for that ;-). (I love the fact that you resume editing in full enthusiasm even on a Wikibreak - I have the same 'problem'!) By the way, happy birthday for, erm, 3 days ago ;-). Cheers. Lradrama 19:28, 2 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Good luck with your exams on Wed. Thanks for the reply, and, happy editing! Lradrama 20:47, 2 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks

I was just about to revert that and post the appropriate warning, but you'd got there already. One Night In Hackney303 00:58, 3 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

My RfA

Hello Wimt,

Thankyou for voting in my RfA. You will be pleased to know that it has been successful!! Meaning that I, Reedy Boy, am now an English Wikipedia Administrator.

It passed with a suprising 47/0/0, and I really am grateful of all your support, and I hope that I live up to your high expectations!

If there is anything I can do to help you out, please, do not hesitate to contact me!

Yours,

RfA

Well, it looks like you're back now, so I've created the RfA page. I'll add my nomination, and I'll notify some of the guys who were interested. In the meantime, you can add your answers to the questions, if you like. Nishkid64 (talk) 18:31, 3 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi Wimt

Or Will. You argued "delete" in the AFD on Connect Financial - it's actually one of the biggest credit unions in Australia - I've produced a bunch of references; please consider revisiting the AFD and seeing if you are now satisfied the article meets WP:CORP. Thanks! Neil â•¦ 09:54, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hey - I have revisited the discussion and amended my statement in the light of the new references. Regards. Will (aka Wimt) 14:32, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
I have reviewed the references and found them sorely wanting. Zivko85 23:43, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Indeed I tend to agree that they are not sufficient per my comments at the discussion. Will (aka Wimt) 23:49, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

You have as much right to suspend 'Empire On Fire' as you do 'As I Lay Dying' or 'Unearth'. Your RfA

Sorry I delayed adding my nom to your RfA. Should I ask the others who wanted to nominate you to pitch in, or are you fine as the RfA currently stands? Nishkid64 (talk) 23:34, 8 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Okay. Be sure to have fun at the MeetUp. You'll be seeing one of my close Wikifriends, Majorly, there. Nishkid64 (talk) 00:14, 9 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I wouldn't advise it as bots are only allowed up to 15 edits/min and exceeding that could result in a block (well, we're not bots but..) GDonato (talk) 16:51, 14 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
You mean you're not a bot... :-p Will (aka Wimt) 17:06, 14 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

RFA

I voted for your RFA. I voted yes that you become an admin because you know what your doing, and your answer to number 1 blew me away. The one guy who voted no is new. He has no edits bascially, no knowledge of wiki policy, etc. I would not care if that is your only no. Politics rule 22:42, 14 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
