Orphaned non-free image File:DraftSight Logo Symbol.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:DraftSight Logo Symbol.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Draftsight

edit

Hello. I notice that the article was deleted before. The issue may not have been the presentation, but instead, the subject itself, and its notability. You might want to check with User talk:JamesBWatson or User talk:Closedmouth for guidance, before putting it in the mainspace, or working on it any further. (They were the ones who deleted it last time.) This will save you time if it isn't ultimately suitable for the mainspace. Just a friendly suggestion. Best wishes. (If there is any way I can help, please drop me a line.) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 21:47, 26 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks Anna, would love your feedback, too, if you have a chance, and I'll wait for JamesBWatson's guidance. Wikifan1836 (talk) 14:43, 27 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

I will try to look at this as soon as I get time, but unfortunately I will not have time to do it properly for at least a day or two, and I think a rushed job might well be unhelpful. (If I haven't got back to you on this after, say, three days, please feel welcome to remind me.) JamesBWatson (talk) 22:18, 26 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thank you, James. Looking forward to hearing from you. Wikifan1836 (talk) 14:44, 27 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
Sorry to keep you waiting. I have had a look at the draft article, and here are my thoughts. It is not blatantly enough promotional for me to speedily delete it again, though I do still vaguely feel that it is written as if it is intended to promote the software. I would be hard put to pick out any specific sentence which is clearly promotional, but taht is my overall feeling. However, as I have already indicated, I don't think that vague feeling is enough to justify a speedy deletion. JamesBWatson (talk) 14:55, 30 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for your feedback, James. Will move the article to the mainspace and looking forward to hearing from the Wiki community. Wikifan1836 (talk) 14:12, 31 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Pongr, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page CRM (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Ways to improve Rob Shepardson

edit

Hi, I'm Kudpung. Wikifan1836, thanks for creating Rob Shepardson!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Article reads like a classical promotional CV for a politician

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 13:58, 26 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:Advertising Executive Rob Shepardson Headshot.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Advertising Executive Rob Shepardson Headshot.jpg, which you've attributed to Rob Shepardson. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Diannaa (talk) 04:31, 15 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
