You...

edit

I think you are a horrible person. I really don't want to cause Wikihate but I don't like the way you are. You insult the president. you insult me, you are all fancy with your achives! It makes me sick! Ooohh, look at me, I have an Archive 01! It's so annoying. Don't you realise this? Dom58! 17:09, 24 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

That reply you sent me made me very sad. I said clearly that i don't want to start any wikihate. But surely, don't you realise that President Bush is not an alien? He is a 61 year old man, and deserves dignity. You are arrogant, alking and using words like 'dude' that doesn't contribute as a respectable part of the English language! Chill, man! You are really horrid, and have made me angry. Dom58! 17:46, 24 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

May I help you?(Wikidan829) I just wanted to let you know I stole that thing you got on your user page and made it into This Enjoy you can use it too!Arnon Chaffin Got a message? 18:18, 24 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

I stole it from User:alphachimp who apparently stole it from User:Gurch, have at it! It's a great tool. Wikidan829 18:19, 24 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
did you hit the link to my place? also You both please read This Thank you.Arnon Chaffin Got a message? 18:20, 24 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
I did, I think I saw the link on Phaedriel's talk page originally, I did not realize you took it from me. :) Also, regarding the above conversation, please ignore it. This user is acting very strange, I re-added a sockpuppet link to his page(that he removed on another editor) so the investigation can continue. If you look at his contributions, he hasn't done anything but add a few {{db-nonsense}} tags to a few articles. Most of it was arguing with other editors and adding userboxes to his user page. Very strange. Wikidan829 18:25, 24 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Assume good faith only applies when someone "could possibly mean well" or makes an ambiguous statement. It's pretty clear that it does not apply here. Wikidan829 18:31, 24 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm here, Dan!

edit

Hi Dan! Sorry I was away when you messaged me, but I've been looking at the evidence surrounding this particular user as soon as I learned of him, thanks to your heads up. Based on the analysis I've made, it is pretty clear that it's just a disruptive sockpuppeter going on with his misdeeds. Add the numerous personal attacks from him to you and other users and every attempt to AGF falls apart. I've therefore blocked him indefinitely as an abussive sockpuppet. Let me know if he ever couses you further trouble, k? Take care! Love, Phaedriel - 04:54, 25 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the message,Wikidan829. I'm not going to put my pictures back, but anybody could undo my edits and I would never touch a page again, I just do not want to put my pictures at any page myself any more. Best regards, Mbz1 18:59, 28 May 2007 (UTC)Mbz1Reply

I assume you are referring to Kieff and myself here. I can assure you that I regret Mbz1's reaction as much as you do. Could I ask where you find us to have been insulting though? Nick Mks 19:04, 28 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

I suppose it may be useful to point out here as well that the above quote is not mine. Nick Mks 19:06, 30 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
I clearly know it's not. Wikidan829 19:10, 30 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Who are you talking to? Wikidan829 19:26, 28 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
That's OK. I'm not insulted. I just would not like to put pictures to Wikipedia pages myself. It is Wikipedia, my pictures are there and anybody could do with them as they wish, besides Wikipedia could do just fine without my pictures.

No problem. And sorry about the "not speak english" thing. I added it to the comment because I belive the person was trying to get a point accross (not vandalism), but in the way they worded it, it made absolutely no sense.Nubz0r 22:13, 29 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

McDonald's

edit

The rules allow for deletion of talk that is either out-and-out vandalism or is just bellyaching or conversational stuff that has nothing to do with improving the article. As with this case. Baseball Bugs 15:09, 30 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • So when someone posts a banner on a talk page saying that anything off-topic will be deleted, are they committing vandalism? I've seen that a lot on pages about a current-events kind of situation (such as Saddam Hussein early this year) and it was presented with the ring of authority. Does that mean that I have the right to ignore such banners? Or are they the ones in the wrong? Baseball Bugs 15:27, 30 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
  • The items shown below are banners currently on the Saddam Hussein talk page. I don't see why the second one, at least, doesn't also apply to the McDonald's talk page. Also, I recall having had a simple and pleasant conversation between my talk page and someone else's, and some third party jumped in and warned us not to write about stuff that wasn't article-related. There seems to be some serious inconsistency here. Baseball Bugs 15:31, 30 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
  • You would be surprised how heated the McDonald's topic can get. But the theory here would be that if they continue to post conversations of this type, ignoring your polite request, then it could be considered vandalism? Baseball Bugs 15:42, 30 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
  • Feel free to delete these banners when you're done with them. Or this entire paragraph. :) Baseball Bugs 15:44, 30 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
  • Thanks for your further notes. This also brings up a related issue: If I pose what I think is a fair question to a user on his talk page, and he deletes it just because he doesn't want to see it there, isn't that also considered vandalism? I'm specifically talking about User talk:Tecmobowl. He and I are not exactly getting along, but he insists on instructing me on where I may ask questions about things. I don't think that's appropriate behavior on his part. I readily admit to not being perfect either. Baseball Bugs 15:27, 31 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
  • The examples would be various items in the history of User talk:Tecmobowl. I'm getting complaints about him from other users now, so it's not just me. His situation might be building to an RFC, and the deletions from his own talk page and refusal to answer questions, with edit summaries like "la dee da", are just one small piece of that. I think the one item he left on the talk page was where I basically kneeled before him. Baseball Bugs 16:01, 31 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
  • Rogereeny. :) Baseball Bugs 21:44, 31 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

User:Andman8

edit

Hmm, despite your warning, User:Andman8 still figures spamming is OK. I'm sensing a slow-motion limits-testing. Just a heads-up. --Calton | Talk 20:26, 30 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I saw it. You gave him a last spam warning, if he does it again he should be blocked. I don't know why he keeps coming to Wikipedia if it's such an awful place. Wikidan829 20:33, 30 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Technically it was the second-to-last warning (I leave final warnings up to the admins who can actually make good on them), but yeah, it ought to be more than enough warning if he continues. Hopefully, the people responsible for the Spam Blacklist will be convinced to add the site, rendering spamming attempts moot and saving the time wasted monitoring his behavior. --Calton | Talk 21:50, 30 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Exactly. Thanks for the update. Wikidan829 21:51, 30 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Why do we brother with wikipedia? I don't know but do you?Arnon Chaffin Review me? Talk 18:25, 1 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I don't know. I guess at one point I thought I had an abstract concept of what this site was for. I guess it took me a while to realize that Wikipedia is nothing more than an idealist's dream (pipe dream, that is). Just like any group of people you meet, any place you go to work, there is bullshit, and of course I don't want/expect it to go away. I guess I just don't care anymore. The site is fun and more of a hobby than anything. But, after being an anonymous contributor for a while, then actually creating an account(recently I might add), getting involved, it lost most, if not all, of its luster. Whatever goal this website is trying to reach, is simply not realistic. That's all. Wikidan829 18:44, 1 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
I can say that I'm glad I realized this sooner than later. Less of a loss. Wikidan829 18:47, 1 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hey

Hey Mr.Dan. I'm a new Wikipedian, but I noticed you are angry with someone called User: Dom58! and I want to know why you don't like him. He's my big brother and I plead to you if you could forgive him. He is very right-wing, and he makes me angry too. But he really wouldn't want to spread WikiHate - he's always yabbering on to me about this Wikipedia. He's sad to be banned, so please can you consider his case, and get back to me on my user page. Thanks for your help, Christine118247 15:38, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I saw that while I was reviewing the 2 unblock requests. What nailed it for me though was this. Newly minted account tossing around the name of a fairly major sockpuppeteering troll is a dead giveaway... in fact it kind of puts the whole Dom56 puppetfarm into perspective.--Isotope23 16:08, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

If it is who I think it is, probably not. Best just block on sight, and not give much in the way of recognition.--Isotope23 16:15, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
