Notice of Edit warring noticeboard discussion

edit

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion involving you at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring regarding a possible violation of Wikipedia's policy on edit warring. Thank you. Joseph2302 (talk) 19:41, 19 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Thank you. I'd appreciate your assistance. The UT page is sorely out of date, and random users are removing our edits wholesale. We're not being permitted to make any updates to the page. If there are specific issues or questions, we're more than happy to address them or make revisions.

Your recent editing history at University of Tampa shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you get reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Thank you. I'd like to please request temporary protection. All of my edits are being wiped out repeatedly by another two users. This is a confirmed account. Please let me know the next steps.

Hi there. Thank you for recognizing and abiding by the warning. I've reviewed the situation and I've noticed that you were being reverted whilst actively in the process of updating the article. Doesn't look like you were even given a chance to complete you were trying to do before your changes were being reverted. That's not the way we do things around here, and as such I've temporarily blocked both of those editors from Wikipedia for their disruptive behavior. You're free to edit the article, although please keep in mind that we still require reliable sources, particularly if you're removing sources that already exist. If you fail to do this, your edits may still be reverted in favor of content with sources. One more thing, can you clarify what you mean by "we"? Does this account belong to a group of people, or an individual editing on behalf of the University? Swarm... —X— 00:35, 20 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

1 more thing, it's considered bad practice to add external links to the main body of text, they should be in the external links section at the bottom. I'm happy to fix this right now. Joseph2302 (talk) 00:45, 20 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
Fixed I've moved all the external links to the External Links section at the bottom of the page. Joseph2302 (talk) 01:04, 20 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
