Welcome!

Hello, WendyJS, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, your edit to Evelyn Sanguinetti does not conform to Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy (NPOV). Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media.

There's a page about the NPOV policy that has tips on how to effectively write about disparate points of view without compromising the NPOV status of the article as a whole. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, click here to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. Below are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Hello WendyJS. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, such as the edit you made to Evelyn Sanguinetti, and that you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to Black hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:WendyJS. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=WendyJS|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, please do not edit further until you answer this message. Magnolia677 (talk) 09:59, 24 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the input, and I understand your concern. I am not paid in any manner, and after some criticism by Nthep I changed my style of writing to conform to standards. I believe that this is the first page I have ever contributed to or edited. I am interested in Illinois politics, and Evelyn Sanguinetti is an Hispanic Republican which I find very interesting in the age of Trump. I do know Evelyn, and I must confess that I am a great admirer. WendyJS (talk) 15:51, 24 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
