Speedy deletion nomination of User:WeeklySaturday

edit

Hello WeeklySaturday,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged User:WeeklySaturday for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Hashim 05:59, 4 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

...which were posted by an inexperienced new-page patroller. New page patrol, like everything on Wikipedia, is done by volunteers, who have to learn as they go along, but actual deletion takes a second pair of eyes, an administrator who will check the nomination. I have declined both his speedy-deletion nominations, and given him some advice. Your user page is fine - see WP:User pages for guidance on what is appropriate there.

I presume you did not actually want Rose-Lynn Fisher to be deleted? If you did, you can put {{db-author}} at the top, meaning "author requests deletion".

The article could do with more references: Wikipedia's WP:Notability criterion looks for references showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject," see also WP:Notability (summary) and [[WP:CREATIVE]. References such as the Smithsonian one, which is largely Fisher talking about her work, do not count for so much as comment about her and her work, written independently of her.

Regards, and welcome again! JohnCD (talk) 10:39, 4 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
