Your username

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Watsoncreativemedia", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, service, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually (not your role), such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, service, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 22:26, 1 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi. I'm a single human being who deals with creative media. I am not a brand, I am a single human being. Watson is my married name, creative media is the format I deal with. I am disabled, i don't have a job, nor am i associated with anyone. I simply want to pass the time by editing Wikipedia articles to be fair. I also think I've been unfairly treated, seeing as I've been on here five minutes with a simple question, and already folks are assuming things about me. If it's such an issue, I will another account which will potentially expose my full name, preventing my annonymynity. I thought "creative media" was an ironic title, given that this type of writing vastly differs from the expected. I have a sense of humor. Clynnwat (talk) 01:37, 2 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

You don't need to use your real name with an account. As I note below, you've created a new account, which would resolve this matter. However, if you really want to keep this username, please follow the instructions below to make an unblock request(if granted, you would need to abandon your new account). 331dot (talk) 01:39, 2 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Understandable. Thank you for clarifying. Clynnwat (talk) 01:44, 2 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Not what Wikipedia is

edit

"I think it would be in the best interest of his audience to know the artist behind the works." is exactly what Wikipedia is not. That approach would be considered promotional, and would lead to a Speedy deletion of your draft. Think neutral point of view. Essential to have significant content from reliable source references that are about him, not his work. David notMD (talk) 22:58, 1 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, club, organization, company, or website - I have blocked this account. Please take a moment to either create a new account, or request a change of username of your current account here. The new username must represent only yourself as an individual and comply with Wikipedia's username policy.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text

{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.

 Thank you.

I'm a writer, writing about a subject. Isn't that what writers do, write about things that interest them? Watsoncreativemedia (talk) 00:56, 2 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

I can't identify myself as a writer? Watsoncreativemedia (talk) 00:57, 2 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

I wish you would unblock me. That's my name, not a brand. Watsoncreativemedia (talk) 00:57, 2 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

To formally request unblock, please follow the instructions above- other admins will not see this unless you do as requested. According to Google there is at least one business with the name "Watson Creative Media". Your post on the Teahouse seemed to suggest that you might be a PR person for Mr. Reyes. Even if you are not a business, you could be confused with that business so it might be worth changing your username anyway. However, if you wish to attempt to keep it, please say this in an unblock request. 331dot (talk) 01:06, 2 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
It appears that you created a new account, which is fine, so nothing more needs to be done here. 331dot (talk) 01:08, 2 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Well, I'm sorry Dot, I am a director and creative person who uses that username. I have no formal association with Mr. Reyes, I just believe his subject of choice is strange enough to merit notability. And if it is such an issue, i will see to it that he makes his name in the US news. I will take all that you've said into account.
