There are many ways you can contribute to Wikipedia. Here are a few ideas:

Remember to always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes (~~~~)
at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to this (your talk) page, and a timestamp.
To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own private sandbox for use any time. Perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put
{{My sandbox}}
on your user page. By the way, seeing as you haven't created a user page yet, simply click here to start it.Sincerely, – MrX 03:34, 16 October 2012 (UTC) (Leave me a message)

Response to your question on my talk page
editYou added:
"The rainbow flag was created to be a more organic and natural replacement, and is a welcomed symbol in the LGBT community since it promotes the spread of aids and mental instability."
Which is at best, controversial, and at worst, vandalism. In any case, you would would need reliable sources to add something like this. Please review the links in the welcome message above for how to do this. – MrX 03:40, 16 October 2012 (UTC)
That is to be expected. Citations are easy:
There is a "Cite" toolbar at the top of the edit window which allows you to automatically generate the required wiki code.
You click one of the templates, e.g. "book", and fill in the details.
More information can be found in Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or the citations tutorial (the below video will play best in Firefox or Chrome):
Hope this helps,
