April 2021

edit

Hello, I'm Robby.is.on. I noticed that you recently removed content from Granit Xhaka without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Robby.is.on (talk) 09:45, 8 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

i just don't like runners up honours , can just write the champion honours only 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Wanroslan (talk) 09:47, 8 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
Okay. Wikipedia is mostly not about personal likes or dislikes. There is no consensus at WP:FOOTY, which is the community of people editing football articles on the English-language Wikipedia, to remove all runners-up honours. My understanding is that most agree to keep runners-up honours involving medals (usually cups and Olympics) and to remove second-place league finishes.
You can search the archives at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football for previous discussions of the topic. Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 10:01, 8 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
People don't want know about being runners up but people want know about win the medals Wanroslan (talk) 10:06, 8 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
That's your opinion. You could start a new discussion and try to convince others of it. But until then, you need to respect the existing consensus. Robby.is.on (talk) 10:13, 8 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
Can you discuss with them Wanroslan (talk) 10:20, 8 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
No. I won't do the work for you. ;-) I would suggest you find other areas to work on and to get used to how Wikipedia works, and then revisit the issue later. Robby.is.on (talk) 10:22, 8 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
Can you tell me where i can discuss with all them Wanroslan (talk) 10:23, 8 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
Yes. It's Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football. Robby.is.on (talk) 10:39, 8 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Robby.is.on. Your recent edit(s) to the page Bernd Leno appear to have added incorrect information, so they have been removed for now. If you believe the information was correct, please cite a reliable source or discuss your change on the article's talk page. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Robby.is.on (talk) 16:40, 8 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Updating caps and stats

edit

Hello, I'm Robby.is.on. Welcome to Wikipedia! I just wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions were not quite right. When updating statistics within the infobox of a footballer, please make sure you update the timestamp at the same time, so that both readers and fellow editors know when the information was last updated.

You can do this by replacing the existing timestamp within the |club-update= or |pcupdate= parameter for club stats, or the |nationalteam-update= or |ntupdate= parameter for international stats. For articles that use a DMY date format, use five tildes (~~~~~), or for MDY dates, use {{subst:mdytime}}. This will generate the specific time the update was made.

If you have any questions about this, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you,

I updated the timestamp at William Saliba for you in this change. Robby.is.on (talk) 11:59, 8 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Why?

edit

Wanroslan, why are you vandalising articles now? I've got to say I'm really disappointed. I spent a lot of time trying to help you with understanding how Wikipedia works. And now you're wasting my time and the time of other editors with your nonsense edits. Robby.is.on (talk) 16:56, 8 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Because all of you don't want hear my advice not to put up runners-up Wanroslan (talk) 17:15, 8 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
Yes, the people who replied to your suggestions mostly disagreed. But that's an incredibly lame excuse to break stuff. Robby.is.on (talk) 17:27, 8 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Sourcing

edit

Hi. You added "*Premier League Hall of Fame: 2021" to Dennis Bergkamp's "Honours" section. I've removed it for now because it lacked a citation. Per WP:Verify, content on Wikipedia needs to be sourced to a reliable sources. Please make sure to include one when you add content to articles. Help:Introduction to referencing with Wiki Markup/1 has instructions. Robby.is.on (talk) 09:20, 21 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Wanroslan, please read the section above, titled "Updating caps and stats", again. If you don't understand it, ask here and I'll try to help. Robby.is.on (talk) 10:36, 3 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
i know robby but i dont know his stats include play-off games Wanroslan (talk) 11:07, 3 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Oh, yeah, sorry, I missed the sentence about play-off matches. They are indeed not included. Robby.is.on (talk) 11:16, 3 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
@GiantSnowman: "Vandalism" seems harsh then. This looks like a mistake made in good faith. I don't think Wanroslan has been informed before that appearances in play-off matched are not included. Robby.is.on (talk) 11:16, 3 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Fair point, but they have a long history of non-constructive edits, resulting in a recent block. GiantSnowman 11:30, 3 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Footballer infoboxes

edit

Hello. Please understand that the appearances and goals in infoboxes are for REGULAR-SEASON LEAGUE MATCHES ONLY. No cups, no European competitions, no play-offs. The figures you added at David Seaman included matches in all competition. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 16:09, 7 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

you edit wrong stats for @John Lukic too Wanroslan (talk) 16:11, 7 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

An earlier editor changed them to just Premier League appearances, which I didn't notice, you changed them to all competitions, and I thought I changed them to what ref #1 says are league appearances. What's wrong with them now? cheers, Struway2 (talk) 16:58, 7 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

you are idiot , premier league not only league appearences but first division too Wanroslan (talk) 18:24, 7 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Please look at ref #1 from the article: Hugmans Footballers. This site counts ONLY league stats: Premier League or Football League.
This site Sporting Heroes breaks down the player's LEAGUE appearances by season (Premier League, First Division, Second Division): add them up for yourself.
This site Neil Brown shows LEAGUE matches by club/spell.
What source are you using? Struway2 (talk) 19:07, 7 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

you should look at club career Wanroslan (talk) 20:07, 7 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
