Skoosh is a UK discount hotel booking site.[1] The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) in the UK started on investigation into the company's complaints regarding price fixing in 2010.[2] The focus of the investigation is into resale price maintenance. As of July 31st 2012 a Statement of Objections was issued by the OFT against Booking.com, Expedia and Intercontinental Hotels Group as a result of Skoosh's complaint, [3] [4] which was that it was unable to share commissions with its customers, and sell at a discounted price [5]. A similar lawsuit was filed in California on 20th August 2012 which cited the allegations of Skoosh and the evidence provided in detail [6]. |
