Hi. It's nice to see someone editing the Scott Joplin page, but is there any reason you edited my sig on the take page to a different date? I'm sure it was just an accident, buy it seemed a bit odd. ♫ Melodia Chaconne ♫ 12:03, 15 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Anthony Quinn edit

Hi, I moved your comment on Anthony Quinn to the discussion page (Talk:Anthony Quinn) since it obviously belongs better there. See [1]. Happy editing, Garion96 (talk) 22:01, 7 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Talk:Morse code edit

I moved your reply down to the correct section to make it easier to understand. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 07:48, 9 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sorry that should have been "...to what I thought was the correct section..." CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 07:50, 9 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

From LuckyLouie edit

Hi. FYI, this is your own Talk Page which you can use to discuss edits, and where others can leave messages for you.

You asked, please enlighten me about how and why someone would delete my entire post, based only upon his opinion as to its merit? I can assure you he didn't do it to be mean or because he has a huge ego. He did it because your entry did not fit the encyclopediac prose style (neutral, unemotional, simplified of jargon, etc) and he was too busy to fix it. Rather than take the time to rewrite it himself and put it in a more appropriate section, he can (according to Wiki rules) simply remove it. To be fair, he didn't actually "delete" it, he just moved it to the Talk page. That's how I found your text and so was able to rewrite it. Notice that he did not remove my version. Is it because I'm smarter, or he likes me better? No, it's because I am a little bit more familiar with Wikipedia rules and styles, and I know what will pass muster. Like I said, hang in there, it takes a LONG time. 73. --- LuckyLouie 18:31, 9 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

PS, go here http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:W8IMP&action=edit (your user page) and type something about yourself. After you do that, your user name will appear in BLUE rather than RED. --- LuckyLouie 20:47, 9 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Intelligent design ref edit

Hi, can you let us know on the intelligent design talkpage where your reference applies to? (so a proper reference link can be added). thanks Tomandlu 21:40, 19 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

If you can figure out where it belongs, please be my guest! I saw Edward Humes discussing "Monkey Girl" for over an hour on Book TV last weekend. Since it deals with the entire discussion of ID, most of which came out of the Dover decision, I thought it would only make sense to include it, at least, in the Bibliography. Since I saw only footnotes, I tried to include it there, but was unable to do so. Seems like every time I try to contribute, my ineptitude rears its ugly head.

I looked for a Monkey Girl page in Wiki, but found none. I tried to create one, importing the Book title, ISBN ect. from the [[Edward Humes]] page, but I could not do that either, so...? I find myself writing well enough to contribute to several discussions, but quite frustrated in learning the nuts and bolts of Wiki. I am thankful that when I wrote something worthy of inclusion, a fellow Wiki came along and fixed it up.--W8IMP 02:14, 20 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

No worries - we've added a "further reading" section and put monkey girl in it. Tomandlu 09:43, 20 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Nursing Education edit

Hi, as the originator of several of the nurse and nursing pages I agree with much of what you say. Don't be disappointed by the High priests of Wiki who seem intent on removing everyones work, just go for it and if you stuff up someone will probably fix it!! Ianguy 04:36, 12 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ianguy,

Ow ye goin' myte! I visited Auckland in 1968 on our way back from Viet Nam. I had heard of the friendliness of Kiwi's, and the first couple of times I was greeted by people crossing the street, I checked my wallet! I was tossing down a few at a pub, when I fell into conversation with two blokes with gym bags. I could understand their explanations of football, but when they talked to each other I was clueless! When "last call" hit at 10:00 pm, somebody took all the drinks on the bar and dumped them into a bucket. One lad said, "You shoulda been 'ere last yeah, myte. Last year i' 'as six o'clock!" So we repaired to the married fellow's house. He excused himself several times, eventually saying quite nonchalantly, "'scuse me mytes, I think me missus is 'avin' a miscarriage." I suggested to the bachelor chap that maybe we should leave, to which he said, "'ow it's alroit, myte, 'ave anothuh beuh!" We did leave, going to the other laddie's. I was somewhat nonplussed when the chap micturated in the shrubs in front of his own house. I should have done the same, as I had had at least as much beer as he had. When I eventually asked his parents about the bathroom, (it's washroom in Canada), they looked puzzled. Dad walked me into a room with only a bathtub, and said, "...toylet's 'cross th' 'all."

So your Scottish! Me mum's family had some MacDaniel blood going back before 1776. Me missus' late mum, a Wallace, was born in Gartsherrie. We had her 80th birthday party at Stone Mountain Georgia, and hired a piper to play for her. I once officed with another laddie, Ian, who is a Master Piper. I once asked him if I got a cantor, would he give me a lesson? He said, "No, I take no students over seven. The instrument is impossible for an adult to play."

And you like dogs. I've got the Best Dog In The World. Zeke is half pit bull, and, (we think), half boxer. He must have spent an extra day or two in the paint & trim department. He sports a short red coat, white chest/belly, black trim on his face, nose and stand-up/lay-back ears, four white paws and a white-tipped tail.

I would like to address your concern about the almost-instant disappearance of my writing, but I prefer to tell you about by p-mail. If you send me your address, I would like to share this tale worth telling. Mine is w8imp@yahoo.com.

Cheers,--W8IMP 19:25, 14 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank you edit

Just wanted to say that I was touched by your recollections here about your time on the USS Mullany. I am a member of WP:SHIPS, and you've eloquently reminded me why I do what I do. If you are still interested in working to update ships' histories here, we would love to have you join the project. Kindest regards, Maralia 14:44, 12 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
