The part I added was cited [1] and dead links have been removed for existing sentences that still have other sources for support. Vacosea (talk) 16:55, 12 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

For the good of everyone edit

Hi there. It seems to me that your post at ANI maybe creating / escalating a not-that-friendly or even somewhat-hostile atmosphere towards our common hometown. Are you sure that’s what you/we really want?

As to consensus, we may have different interpretations. E.g., Per WP:EDITCON, “An edit has presumed consensus until it is disputed or reverted”.

Further, as another editor has pointed out at the ANI thread: “Dustfreeworld has been reverting you because you've been unilaterally reverting birth place info when only one user (aside from you) has clearly agreed with you—according to the very same links you have posted” [2]

As seen clearly from the above, I don’t think I’ve made “misrepresentation” on consensus as you said. And IMO your edit summaries that simply saying “no consensus”, or discussion about no birth place in the infobox were misleading.

I don’t think I’ve done *anything* that’s sanctionable. I don’t know if you have. Most of the diffs you provided have been raised at previous ANIs more than half a year ago that ended without the desired ban. I think you might have heard of something called “boomerang”. And I’m not sure if you want to have that time-consuming “bickering drama” that had been lasted for months at ANI to happen again. And I’m not sure if it would do either of us any good. I really don’t want to spend the time on that for now due to personal issues. That said, I won’t evade if it’s inevitable, although I don’t think it’s what I/we want.

Please also note that I’ve never taken you to ANI. This is already the second time you take me to ANI.

ANI isn’t the place for content disputes. IMO if you insist on the changes, we should have the issue settled on the article’s talk page. As for Lee’s birth place, I won’t mind if we have both CN and HK in the infobox, but it would be weird to have none. As for the length of that section, I still think we can expand the other parts to make things balanced, but I just really can’t find the time and energy. If you have a version different from the current long-standing one, I suggest you post on the article’s talk page so that we can discuss about it and improve it together (but as I said, I may not be able to reply swiftly, so I’d appreciate your patience). All in all, I suggest you retract / end the ANI case with reasons such as “misunderstanding” ;-) for the good of everyone and for the good of the project. Regards, --Dustfreeworld (talk) 10:47, 18 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

I don't want to have an entire separate discussion here. At the first ANI, I even said I was willing to resolve it one more time with you on the talk page, before you began throwing groundless accusations against me. This time, as you have said it yourself, "an edit has presumed consensus until it is disputed or reverted." Involved editors including yourself all knew that your edits were disputed on the talk page and reverted numerous times going as far back as August 2023. [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] [10] [11] Those who disagreed with you outnumbered those who agreed, so even if this is not a vote, there never was consensus for the preferred version that you have been pushing, which is why your numerous claims are so misleading and a matter for ANI.
