A tag has been placed on Rachel baes, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you feel that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Dep. Garcia ( Talk + | Help Desk | Complaints ) 15:37, 4 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

If someone would read my article I would not waste my time here, I'm losing my patience

re Rachel baes

edit

What is the meaning of the legend "(Unica Ataraxia, summer, 2006)" at the bottom of this article? Does the article consist of material taken from an earlier work by a Unica Ataraxia? If so it is presumably copyrighted and cannot be used. To be on the safe side I have deleted the article for the time being until this is cleared up. Herostratus 03:15, 5 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

There is no legend, just using a pseudonym on a text I wrote; one has a right and please leave my contributions alone, I'm trying to write about Belgian surrealism. unica ataraxia

Unica ataraxia

edit

The article you created at Unica ataraxia was listed for deletion as An article about a real person that does not assert the importance or significance of its subject, criterion 7 in the criteria for speedy deletion, Articles section. Since it appears to be about you I've moved it to your user space instead, which was probably what you intended in the first place (a common mistake among newcomers!).

If you really did mean to create an article about yourself please be aware that this is often considered a bad idea, even if you do meet the guidelines for inclusion of biographies.

I know Wikipedia can be confusing for new editors, so you are welcome to ask for help at the help desk or on my talk page. Veinor (talk to me) 21:23, 10 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

No sorry; it was my intention to link my name to user information, thx for your time.

Welcome, and stuff

Welcome to Wikipedia. Help:Contents has all the information that you may need, even if it's not always easy to find. You can ask questions at the Help Desk, and that has links to other places for leaving questions. Please note that I've moved Rachel baes to Rachel Baes and expanded it a little. As the boilerplate on the submission form says: "If you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly or redistributed by others, do not submit it." Very best regards, Angus McLellan (Talk) 11:31, 11 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thx for doing that! I was first trying this out and I have to study more on the protocol and hope to contribute with more profound knowledge of the codes that have to be respected.

Please refrain from making test edits in Wikipedia articles, such as those you made to Rachel Baes, even if your ultimate intention is to fix them. Such edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment again, please use the sandbox. Thank you. -- lucasbfr talk 22:47, 11 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

You obviously were not trying to damage the article and I'm sorry you got a warning that suggests otherwise, but the issue is that while you were editing, you accidentally deleted the categories at the end. In preview it can look like those tags do nothing, but they're what makes Rachel Baes show up in categories like Category:Belgian artists where people can find her article. I put back the references that you were trying to add. —Celithemis 23:12, 11 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

One of you is very helpful here because I was only trying this out. But thx ... from the start I was trying to put Rachel Baes in Wikipedia because she's an icon of Belgian surrealism. I have put a text on my website; see link, I can put this in wikipedia because there is not really much yet; I prefer changing it later on the website to avoid trouble here, give a sign if I change it, but for the moment I give permission to print it even without my pseudonym; it's something to start, have to reflect about a more complex text. Patrick Spriet wrote an amazing biography in dutch, but that was more about the relation between Rachel Baes and Joris Van Severen, there is much more to say about her work and I'm pretty convinced I could write about that because I have been living with some great pieces for 15 years and I have contemplated almost every painting she made.

Best intentions (unica ataraxia)
