I was going to go to village pump and ask whether there was anyone around who could create a bot to go through and automatically remove them, but since you're mostly done (all done?) A kindred soul

Just got around to reading your user page. Not only do we have being dog crazy in common, but also I started "life" as a programmer (what software engineers used to be called :-) ) and only later moved to technical writing; AND I have a rather large collection of dragons in my house, too, not to mention many bookcases of SF & fantasy books. Requesting comments on template alteration

Hello. I see you are using one or more of the User instruments templates in your Babel box. Inspired by some recent developments, I want to rework all the templates in there (including ones used on user pages), to make them more like the regular Babel templates. Reply to Dog Photos Message

You're welcome for the Kangal photo. I don't have photos of any other breeds besides Kangal dogs, sorry. I own two Kangal dogs, both of which are offspring of Eti, the dog in the photograph.

I looked at your dog project page. Regarding the Kangal vs. Anatolian Shepherd dispute, you're not going to get the two groups to agree on an answer. The ASD people think that the Kangal, Akbash, and Anatolian Shepherd dogs are all the same breed. They're wrong, but I don't argue about it, as more informed people than I have tried and failed to convince them of the error of their ways.

If you'd just like a layman's summary of the difference between the three breeds, it's this: Kangal and Akbash dogs breed true to type. The ASD standard, OTOH, allows all colors and coats. There are more subtle differences, but that's the Big Obvious One.

I don't have a great idea what to do about it except to say on the talk page "not a generally recognized breed or crossbreed; one of potentially hundreds of thousands not necessary to list on wikipedia." Dogs and All About Them by Robert Leighton

Dear Trysha,

You are correct about the source of the material. It is indeed a copy of Robert's book. However it is a legal, edited version of a public domain work. I thought it would be useful as a wiki link as each chapter was breed specific. However I accept your decision, but you should have asked me to help you remove the links! I know how long it took to put them there in the first place.

Bug (dog breed)

Trysha, please be more careful when slapping destructive sticker, like you did with Bug (dog breed). In such cases at least three things are to be done (1) check contributors; (2) check "what links here" (3) try google.

I also suspected that this is a hoa, but after checking web, where indeed these usages are mentioned, I decided to leave the issue to experts by posting questions at relevant article talk pages. You could have easily detected this by checking "what links there". I am well aware that this may well be a joke breed, coined for fun. But still the last word is for experts. At least I would expect an answer on one of the talk pages: this is bullshit, rather than silent deletion. Beleive me, I can delete pages very well. mikka (t) 05:06, 22 November 2005 (UTC)

Dogs and their skin

Hi, I thought that the many tears rescue centre was very rare as it deals almost exclusivly with puppy farm dogs. The other rescue centre which I visited was full of ex-pets which had fallen on hard times.

Also do you think the skin condition of westies from puppy farms should be added to the puppy farm page to give an example of the poor medical care given to dogs on the farms ?
