TTrinath Sahoo, Advocate

Trinath Sahoo is an Odiya (born on 15th August 1945) Advocate, writer, artist and photographer. He was born in a remote village called Echhapur under Dunguripali Police Station in undivided Balangir District, presently in Subarnapur District.

           He passed matriculation certificate examination in the year 1963 from George High School, Bargarh. His father Ghanashyam Sahoo, uncle Dhanurdhar Sahoo were born businessmen. Elder father Jayaram Sahoo, his father and his uncle were engaged in various businesses at Bargarh. Jayaram Sahoo shifted to the native place village Uttarpratap under Dharmashala Police Station in Jajpur Sub-Division, presently Jajpur District. But Ghanashyam and Dhanurdhar settled at Bargarh.
           After passing matriculation Examination Sri Sahoo prosecuted his study in Panchayat College, Bargarh. After he succeeds in Bachelor in commerce examination from Panchayat College, Bargarh Sri Sahoo passed LL.B. degree examination in year 1971 from Lala Lajpat Ray Law College, Sambalpur. He also works as cashier cum clerk in Punjab National Bank, Sambalpur. He joined legal practice in the year 1971 at Bargarh He is writing legal articles in different law magazines. He is a poet and eminent fiction writer in Oriya language.

He is a pioneer member initiating “Sanskrutika Karyakrama” at Bargarh Town. In the year 1962 he started a “Hindi Kabi Sammelan” being associated with Nand Kishore Agrawal, Omprakash Agrawal, Raghubir Prasad Sharma, some others and being sponsored by Gandhi Pathagar, Bargarh. He also assisted the eminent lawyer, writer and social activist Radha Ballabh Mishra to publish Odiya magazine “Nirjyasa” under the banner of ‘Rabibasariya Sahitya Sansad’.

             He continued his writing habit even after being a successful lawyer. After his marriage at Mani Sahu Chhaka, Cuttack he started his career as a lawyer under the active guidance of eminent senior Advocate Late Ramakanta Mahapatra in Orissa High Court, Cuttack. Subsequently he joined Bar Association, Bargarh and remained as a junior to most talented Advocate Dharmaraj Prasad. He has a family of one son and three daughters. His son Nishant Sahoo is also a lawyer practicing in District Court, Bargarh.

Literariness and devotion to literature: From his childhood he was very fond of writing poems. He was the co-editor of Odiya magazine “Palliswapna” published from Jajpur, Sri Bhagabat Prasad Mohanty was the Chief Editor. Former Vice-President of Sahitya Academy Odisha Mr. Hussain Rabigandhi was publishing an odiya magazine “Sphulinga” from Sambalpur. Mr. Sahoo was a co-editor with Mr. Rabigandhi. Other Activities: Mr. Sahoo has special interest in societal reformation mostly in judicial system. s a poet, novelist and storytelling. His wonderful style of short story writing especially the magical end of the story has able to establish an inspiring touch in every reader. Whoever will read his short storey would like to read it again. In modern odiya literature he has been greatly applauded and approved for his magnificent style and literal use of words. As a matter of fact, he possesses an efficient style of storey telling before the willing persons. Award:

           He was awarded with lifetime achievement in law profession from ‘Justice Raj Kishore Das Samaraki Award, Cuttack’. The award was presented by the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Orissa High Court Justice Vineet Saran on dt.16.12.2016 at Shaheed Bhawan, Cuttack.

           Mr. Sahoo has the hobby in photography and making different kinds of art, He is very fond of black & white Hindi film songs. He has a collection of about ten thousand hindi film songs in his library. He is a voracious reader of magazines, literacy and law book
