Copyright status of Federated Co-operatives Limited edit

Please do not post copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Federated Co-operatives Limited. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites (http://www.fcl.ca/aboutfcl.html in this case) or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author leave a message explaining the details on the article Talk page and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Federated Co-operatives Limited with a link to where we can find that note;
  • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on the article Talk page. Alternatively, you may create a note on your web page releasing the work under the GFDL and then leave a note at Talk:Federated Co-operatives Limited with a link to the details.

Otherwise, you are encouraged to rewrite this article in your own words to avoid any copyright infringement. After you do so, you should place a {{hangon}} tag on the article page and leave a note at Talk:Federated Co-operatives Limited saying you have done so. An administrator will review the new content before taking action.

It is also important that all Wikipedia articles have an encyclopedic tone and follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. License tagging for Image:Farrellbrothers image.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Farrellbrothers image.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Template user Organized Labour edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Template user Organized Labour, by Waacstats (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Template user Organized Labour fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:

should be in template namespace

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Template user Organized Labour, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Template user Organized Labour itself. Orphaned non-free image (Image:Cooplogored1.jpeg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Cooplogored1.jpeg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 21:40, 10 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ottawa Panhandlers Union edit

Did you know that you don't exist? The Panhandlers Union article has been deleted by Wikipedia administorator Blnguyen with the comment, "The result was Delete. socks ignored." Apparently you and the others who argued for keeping the article either don't exist or can be safely ignored. Welcome to Wikipedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by SmashTheState (talkcontribs) 02:03, 29 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm still boggling over how I was mocked by a WikiGod for only having 84 edits under my belt. It was as if he were saying, "Clearly someone with only 84 edits deserves no respect!" I live in Ottawa, and have first hand experience with the union and the media attention it has received. Instead of taking my word for it when it comes to notability, they decide to kill it. Are these people insane? Is Wikipedia a cult?
I have a feeling the article will reappear soon enough, in some other form. Still, it's all very irritating. I feel like four overweight geeks with pocket protectors and taped glasses just roughed me up for my lunch money. --Nik 15:05, 31 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Tourist Union edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Tourist Union, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.hobo.com/tourist_union_63.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Anarchism in Canada edit

Hey, did you mean to add a header to this article without any text underneath it? Cheers! Murderbike (talk) 23:53, 2 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sounds great. However, it would be a good idea to leave the header out until there's some info to go along with it. Otherwise some stranger comes along and says, "Ooh, anarchism in Winnipeg! But wheres the info?". If you want, you can create a page in your userspace, something along the lines of User:Transcona Slim/Sandbox, where you can get info together, start articles, without them being in the article space without being up to Wikipedia standards. Feel free to ask if you've got any questions! Murderbike (talk) 00:06, 3 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Workers' Initiative edit

A tag has been placed on Workers' Initiative requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Emma Goldman edit

Please note that the quotation you ascribe to Emma Goldman was not said by her; it is written (in full) on the north block of the Secretariat Building in New Delhi, built by Herbert Baker in 1912.

"Liberty will not descend to a people; a people must raise themselves to liberty; it is a blessing that must be earned before it can be enjoyed."

It appears (in part) on Goldman's gravestone as an epitaph, but that does not imply that the quotation is hers. Just thought you'd like to know. 80.254.147.52 (talk) 15:26, 21 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Welcome back, but... edit

Liberation News (Internationalist) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
I see that you've just made your first edit with this account four four years. Welcome back! But since the edit did not cite a source and was a negative comment about a living person I have removed it. -- John of Reading (talk) 19:29, 7 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
