An editor has recently proposed that his article be deleted; I beg to differ.

The term brickbat is not an everyday expression of speech, and yet it is currently used in 109 articles on Wikipedia.

I believe that the article fulfills a role for a WP-reader & that, as it serves a valid purpose, the article should be retained.

Moreover, this article is used in several articles on Wikipedia.

Please compare it with loose cannon, for example - although I agree that the word brickbat isn't used yet in any other article's title. Trafford09 (talk) 08:44, 25 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Trafford09: None of that changes the fact that this is no more than a dictionary definition. It does not serve the same purpose as a disambiguation page like loose cannon. Links to this page from other articles could be converted to Wikitionary links, which is permitted in the Manual of Style for "an unusual word". Derek Andrews (talk) 11:39, 25 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
