Managing a conflict of interest

edit

Hello, Tomzzz212004. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page User:Tomzzz212004/Luqman Jimoh, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Hi. Just wanted you to make clear what your relationship is with the subject of that draft. I'm also wondering what your relationship is with User:Anyinchukwu. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Lucien Paiement
added a link pointing to Vimont
Vincent Cannistraro

List categories

edit

Hi Tomzzz212004. Just letting you know that those country-related list categories you are adding are miscategorizations. Those of for list articles, usually in the form of "List of...". See for example Category:France-related lists or Category:France geography-related lists. They are not intended to be a "list" themselves of anything France related. They contain lists. Hope this helps. I am now going to revert several of your recent edits of this nature. --DB1729talk 15:33, 22 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi again. Seems there were only a couple unless I've missed some. I saw two in a row and mistakenly assumed there were more you had done that way. Those are now fixed.[1],[2] Happy editing:) --DB1729talk 15:45, 22 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that one or more recent edit(s) you made did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.

The edit summary field looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing →   Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary, and then click the "Save" button.   Hello, I'm Joe Roe. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that you unlinked one or more redlinks. Redlinks are useful and can often be helpful, so we don't remove them just because they are red. They help improve Wikipedia by attracting editors to create needed articles.

In addition, clicking on the "What links here" link (in the tools listed at the left in desktop view) on a missing article shows how many—and which—articles depend on that article being created. This can help prioritize article creation. Please only remove a redlink if you are pretty sure that it is to a non-notable topic and not likely ever to be created. Thanks! – Joe (talk) 06:34, 1 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

edit

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:37, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
