License tagging for Image:Wakhan cold.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Wakhan cold.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 10:12, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Cambridge University Real Tennis Club

edit

A tag has been placed on Cambridge University Real Tennis Club, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Frehley 15:39, 26 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Cambridge University Real Tennis Club, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Frehley 16:08, 26 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

NowCommons: File:Wakhan cold.jpg

edit

File:Wakhan cold.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Wakhan, Badakhshan.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:Wakhan, Badakhshan.jpg]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 23:05, 20 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Cambridge University Real Tennis Club

edit

I have restored the WikiProject banner on the talk page. Rather than remove it unilaterally, it would be better to discuss it with Wikipedia:WikiProject Tennis by posting a message on their talk page. Maybe they consider the scope of their project wide enough to include Real Tennis - in fact, since their banner is also on Talk:Real tennis, the talk page of the main Real tennis article, it seems that they do.

I have also removed your "hangon": this page is not currently nominated for speedy deletion. You will see that the notice higher up this page is dated May 2009. The version then was quite different: "We welcome guests... our courts are among the best in the country... well lit and well maintained courts... an extensive website with details of our two courts... " etc. - an advertisement, not an encyclopedia article - but there is no problem with the present page. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 20:00, 12 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of File:CURTC blue court.jpg

edit

The file File:CURTC blue court.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 30 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
