Peter Young

A tag has been placed on Peter young (head teacher), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Notability

Hi Tinminer

Thanks for your message. I'm afraid I agree with the speedy deletion tag on Peter young (head teacher) (incidentally you forgot the capital Y for his surname). Fine teacher and man though he was, there were and are many such out there and he does not merit an encyclopaedia article. I doubt there are any Marling teachers that would do, in their capacity as such (as opposed to, say, as Bishop of Truro!). While it's true that an online encyclopaedia nt limited by space as a printed one, it would be absurd if every other individual in the word had an entry. Such creations will tend to get "speedied" as "NN" (non-notable). I suggest the best thing is to read up on what constitutes notability in WP terms, as well as the guidelines on how to write and entry, and concentrate your excellent efforts on creating or improving stuff that will not get deleted. There's plenty out there to do once you start looking!

How about having a go at Peter Ball (clergyman)? Do read those guidelines though (see top of this page), and compare with Michael Ball (clergyman). Another thing to bear in mind is that the tone should be neutral, not approving as it is in Peter young (head teacher). Elicting feedback from other Wikipedians

Greetings Tinminer. Not sure what to suggest -- possibly you could attract more traffic by making sure your pages are linked to from everywhere relevant, as well as all relevant Categories. I wouldn't see the lack of Talk pages as a problem though. Great to see your contributions taking shape on Wikipedia. Categories

Hi, I hope you don't mind, I've been fiddling with the categories on some of your Cornish media articles. Basically, if an article is in the Cornish media category, it doesn't need to be in the Cornwall category as well. I've also changed some from the 'magazines' category to the 'British magazines' category. The basic rule of thumb is to try to put articles into the most specific category appropriate. I have removed your warning of proposed deletion of Sylvia's Meadow, because you said that it was a 'un-notable field'.

On the contrary, it is a SSSI, and a very rare example of an un-ploughed field. For this reason, it is home to threatened orchid and other wild plant species, making it a very relevant site in terms of the UK's biodiversity.

I have added this information to the article, and placed a note on the article's talk page.

Carnmenellis

Hi Tinminer, I've been on Wikipedia for a few years but am a very recent recruit to the Cornwall Project.

One of my interests is Cornish geology and so I'm familiar with the placename Carmmenellis because it gives its name to one of the granite batholiths in Cornwall - see Geology of Cornwall. That interest took me to the article Carnmenellis and looking at the history, I see you started, and did much of the work on, that article.

I have now added some more information and rearranged the article to reflect Carnmenellis as a parish and an area rather just a single location (I've also added coords and an external link). Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing.
