Greenfinder

edit

Please stop removing the notability tag. You need to show why the company is import, Wikipedia is not a business directory. See here {Notability_(organizations_and_companies} Heywoodg 10:04, 29 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

I understand your concerns. The problem with noting many references is that Greenfinder is not a company with many references online. All its information is offline and I have spoken with actual staff and even the Director of Greenfinder to find this information. User:TheHungryCapitalist 8:10, 29 September 2011 (AEST)

Hello, it isn't just about references to verify the information on the page (although that too is a very important part), it is about showing *why* the company is notable. If I started "heywoodg inc.", I would also have to show *why* it should be included, and Greenfinder is no different. We can't have a page for every single company in existence, hence the notability requirements. I have done a quick search and can't find anything to show that Greenfinder is notable (news articles, industry articles, etc). Can you provide links anything like this? I hope you see the difference between verifying the data on the page, and showing why the page should be there (last thing, you can sign your comments with four tildes (~), and it will do the link date for you!) Cheers Heywoodg 10:16, 29 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
By the way, I am not "targeting" you account or page. I have not marked it for deletion etc., but by putting the notability tag on there, I want to help you get the information together so it doesn't get tagged for deletion :) Heywoodg 10:21, 29 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Fair enough, I have removed the "targeting" part on my user page. Greenfinder is the largest eco business directory site in Australia. Is this not notable or do I have to provide more secondary sources to prove this? User:TheHungryCapitalist 8:24, 29 September 2011 (AEST)

Personally I have never heard of it, and maybe a lot of people outside Australia haven't. Does that mean it isn't notable? Not necessarily. However if someone else comes along and sees a page for a company that they haven't heard of, with nothing to back up it's claims of being notable, it could well be referred for deletion. If there is any third-party/independent sites which can verify the "largest eco business directory in Australia" thing, that is a good start and you could link to that in the page itself, or if you can't, on the talk page for the article. I'm not the boss, I am certainly no expert, but ultimately, the more you can find, from independent third party sites, the better. There is an article here about creating pages and getting feedback (point 5). That is probably a great place to start (especially submitting for feedback). Wikipedia is pretty pro-active about validating content, but it is also good at helping people. It can just be daunting knowing where to look. Cheers Heywoodg 10:38, 29 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi. When you recently edited Okuyi, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Panther, Hessian and Bantu (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
