Welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for your contributions to the coolest online encyclopedia I know of =). I sure hope you stick around; we're always in need of more people to create new articles and improve the ones we already have. You might also be interested in how to write a great article and possibly adding some images to your articles.

Houston Aeros

Yes, they currently play at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. However, the Houston Aeros practice site is at the Aerodrome in Sugar Land, Texas since the Aerodrome was opened in the 1990s. UH Collegian

I'm sure potential visitors will be comforted in knowing that Chalupas are obtainable in the Southern Tier, but I think they could find some other aspects of the area to highlight. On the other hand: If they want to use wiki as a promotional pamphlet it should be monitored to make sure its not glazed over into subjective marketing uselessness. Ex: the recent change of the "Parlor City" reference in Binghamton, New York. I don't know what is true: personally I always thought it was a reference to all the bars in town. Go right ahead with the hockey player. VfDing one article doesn't mean that no subsequent article can ever go at that title; it just means that the specific article being discussed at that particular time doesn't belong here. NHL uniforms

Actually I did not know about nhluniforms.com, but since I looked I have uniforms that will not have licensing issues and these jerseys are different i.e. You will have a home and away unis as different files, including any alternate (by User:Bestghuran, moved from my user pager my me)

ECHL to AHL

i was not the one who originally posted that info, but both carolina and peoria did indeed move to the ahl....i'll be doing more work on the echl with team by team histories in the days to come. btw, peoria also was in the ihl at one time. it seems that hockey franchises are fairly versatile in that they can come and go with little fuss. i have followed the echl for ten years....my info is guaranteed. 1) No. The original IHL Peoria Rivermen became the San Antonio Dragons. They were replaced by the ECHL Rivermen. And now, the peoria ownership bought the Worcester IceCats and swapped them in. The ECHL team is no longer. ( REF: http://www.theahl.com/AHL/News/2004/11/09/707175.html )

New current roster

As you are probably finding out, it's gonna take a lot of work for each team to make the table addition. But I think it is well worth it. After 5 October, I will start on a few teams and help get that new table happening. I will do the Canucks first on 6 October and after that...well, I guess I will just close my eyes and pick a team. Alphabetical works. I have been going alpha with the Season-by-season stats for each team (I just finished the Sabres a few hours ago). Well, you can start at "A" and I can start at "W" and hope we meet in the middle somewhere. As for others helping, well, I hope Earl Andrew does a team or two as it was his idea in the first place. shoots/catches

I must tell ya that a few days ago while working on the List of NHL one gamers i discovered that when http://www.imdb.com/ says "shoots L", it actually means "Catches L" for goalies. So, be careful of that when adding info about the goalies. It might actually be very difficult to find out if the goalie shoots left or right. It might be so difficult in fact that it might be better to delete that column altogether. Masterhatch 17:41, 4 October 2005 (UTC)

American Hockey League

Hello Ccwaters. I just finished refactoring Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Ice Hockey. I didn't touch the AHL, though, as I wasn't following the related articles or discussions. If you want to refactor the out-dated parts of that discussion, go for it. It is kinda long. hockey categories

Ccwaters, you are a lot more familar with the categories than I am. What cat would you give this article 1921-22 WCHL season? It doesn't seem right to give it an NHL cat. I guess we could create a whole new cat for all of the List of pre-NHL seasons. Also, the WHA seasons don't have categories. I guess we could creat a category for them too. No he's not a vandal. He's just stubborn, which is much worse in my opinion. See further up on my talk page and Talk:ECHL. He likes to blank his user talk too, so check that out. If I ever become an admin I might do something to make him see to reason more. You should see my talk page archive of his conversations with me. He said I should grow up and he also thinks I should be considered a vandal and block me! Uhh... hello! Earth to WillC! Only admins have the power to block people. He even went as far as putting the "Next time you vandalize, you will be blocked" template on my page! But until he acts up again, I wouldn't do anything. Nashua Telegraph

They have scores and summaries every now and then in their offline editions, but they don't focus on the teams. Another media source you might want to put on for the Monarchs is the Hippo Press Karmafist 20:50, 26 October 2005 (UTC)

Like I said, the Telegraph have scores and summaries every now and then, but it's not their focus. They focus more on local High School coverage and Boston Pro Teams as well as Nashua Pride coverage in the summer. As for the Hippo, they do columns every now and then, but they're a weekly and give a different perspective, such as this. A good person to talk to would be DavidWBrooks, since he's an admin and also works for the Telegraph. Karmafist 22:03, 26 October 2005 (UTC)

I didn't know where was anything to "admit". The Telegraph has game summaries every now and then, but they do cover the teams on occasion. That's what I said at first. • I hadn't really thought about it, but IMHO, it seems "local media" should list the newspaper (or other media) that covers a team the most, not those which cover it at all. So in these cases I would say, although I hope my boss never sees this, that the Telegraph shouldn't be listed for the Lock Monsters or the Monarchs. "Promotion" of website

You left a message relative to "promoting" our website. We offer content on the AHL that is relevent, just as we do on other minor leagues. The Wikipedia makes available relevant links to information resources that provide real content (news, history, articles). There is nothing inappropriate about doing that under the Wiki rules. The references left were valid. We contribute hundreds of our articles to Wikipedia gratis each year, and help add and edit numerous stories. We are also developing another public project, Open Source Sports Directory to catalog the players from 1900 to the present in the league.

We have cooperated with the editors of the other sports sections. We would appreciate your cooperation as well.

The purpose of allowing outbound links is to connect people up to content searches that will assist them. Minor League News (MLN) has been around since 2000, with reporters who regularly reported on the AHL back before the Wikipedia was even a concept.

If you apply this rule to us, then we'll be asking that you strip all references to Sports Illustrated or Baseball America or the Hockey News from the Wiki as well.

We included links that take readers to access points to AHL content. We usually try to match up the most relevant point (article or section) to the information in Wikipedia. Again, there are other similiar hockey links on the same page. If you allow one, I fail to see the distinction to the other, unless of course you have some vested interest in promoting publications other than ours.

No, I'm neither selfish, egotistical, or entrepreneurial enough to mention anything I've done elsewhere.
