Re: Barnstar edit

Thanks a lot for the Barnstar. It is difficult to fight the determined regionalistic trolls; But I try my best. Anyways, thanks once again. Praveen 21:38, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

They are not even regional chauvinists simply Tamils pretending to be one so that they can get back at perceived wrongs done by the ideology of a real Kannadiga called Periyar to them. I leave my loud mouth cancers alone because they are their worst enemies and they do my job for me but others can and should be treated properly. If interested let me know. Taprobanus 21:49, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, Taprobanus. It's amazing how much jealousy and hate these good-for-nothing trolls have been storing up. Unfortunately, all we can do is clean up the mess they leave behind. Lotlil 23:24, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Today is spend time at work day, but do remember the strategy behind the disruption. They pretend to be who they really are not and vandalize articles so some people mistake it for regional racism and go to their articles and respond in kind then they as group come back to vandalize your articles. It becomes a self fulfilling prophesy because in reality there is no conflict between the camps except what is caused by a pretender. What you need to do is to not respond as a group towards their articles, leave them alone, let them write what ever they want crap included. But do isolate your cancer, use the wiki process to eliminate it. My cancers, I leave them alone because they really do make their countrymen look so bad and I sometimes really feel sad because the countrymen are really nice people not what these guys project in Wikipedia. But the cancer is worth more alive than dead14:04, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Regarding the LTTE article edit

I saw that you were reverted on the LTTE article for reasons of vandalism. Your adding POV tag to the current article is very much to the point and just gives a warning to readers that it is not balanced. I have given up editing the article myself (I have had so many reverts over my attempts, see also the discussion page), but I try getting others into improving it, for that purpose I have put up a bounty of 1000 USD that the Wikimedia Foundation will receive if it is improved to featured within the end of July this year. Keep up the good work! Best regards - Ulflarsen 05:01, 5 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'll take a look at these articles, but take note that your continuous reverting on all of these articles has been nothing short of disruptive. Please stop. I'm not going to protect multiple articles because certain editors (including you) feel the only way to work on an article is by persistently reverting. -- tariqabjotu 01:08, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for your message in my talk page, you are correct but can you also warn the other editors including an admin concerned that reverting and getting friends to revert so as not to violate 3RR is also disruptive as I am more than willing to follow the wiki proces such as ANI, discussion at WP:RS page then on to rfc, rfm and rfa to resolve this matter. Infact what precitated all this is a message on User:Blnguyen's talk page requesting him and me to resolve this difference of opinion via the wiki process instead of reverting. I think in fairness all involved parties including the admin needs to reminded to refrain from reverting these articles till we resolve the reliability issue via the wiki process. Thanks for your consideration. Taprobanus 12:53, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

Image tagging for Image:Ksraja.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Ksraja.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 07:43, 7 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

As I think Image:Ksraja.jpg comes from here. So I fixed the source on the EN pic but if you can read the license given in TA and add it to the EN, it won't cause any further probs. Cheers --♪♫ ĽąĦĩŘǔ ♫♪ walkie-talkie 03:57, 9 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hey, Taprobanus! I just wanted to inform you that your userpage reads "If you personally attacked". Images? edit

Hi sorry, I've been trying to add a few images to articles, for example the one on Captain Miller, but seem to have problems with the licenses. Just wondering, if you could help me out? I've been using images which have been takin from Tamilnet but am unsure over which license to select, as they have been deleted. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Thusiyan 23:54, 8 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

As you may have seen, I am no expert in uploading images but I can still help but do look at this. There is a lot of neutral work to be done about masscres, murders, rapes etc etc rather than direct LTTE related, JMHO. I have some sources here. Thanks Taprobanus 15:33, 9 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia:Requests for mediation/AMG Chemmani edit

Hello Taprobanus,

Firstly, my apologies for the delay in progress on this case, as explained at Wikipedia:Requests for mediation/AMG Chemmani.

I am writing to you because, as a party to this case, your input is required before mediation can begin, to do with an offer by an experienced non-Committee member to mediate. Please see the Parties' agreement to Tariqabjotu's offer section and provide your input, so that this case can progress. Voting will remain open for seven days, and further elaboration is provided at that link.

For the Mediation Committee, Daniel 04:05, 10 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

The mediation process, starting with opening statements, has begun on Wikipedia talk:Requests for mediation/AMG Chemmani. If you do not have the page watchlisted, I would recommend you add it to your watchlist when you get the chance. I probably won't be notifying each involved editor at every step, and the talk page should be quite active over the course of the mediation. Thanks again for waiting. -- tariqabjotu 22:48, 15 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

That is good advice when we have case of obstinate personality disorder, but I belive in wiki process and I have all the time in the world to get to that point. Orphaned non-free image (Image:Vakarai IDP's.jpeg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Vakarai IDP's.jpeg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 05:47, 21 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Recent RfM comments edit

You may want to expand your comments in the Phase II section of the mediation, as it was not intended to be a straw poll but rather a threaded discussion, much like on a regular article talk page. That way, it'll be easier for others to reply to, agree with, and disagree with your comments. -- tariqabjotu 22:29, 21 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

OK I will do that. Thanks Taprobanus 22:34, 21 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

RfM for AMG Chemmani edit

I'm doing another update for those currently involved in the request for mediation. There are currently three compromises on the table at the moment; your comments on them would be appreciated. You are also welcome to add a compromise of your own and/or continue commenting on the starting points. -- tariqabjotu 05:18, 28 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm providing yet another update on the mediation. A few of the editors recently involved on the mediation page appear to have come to an agreement on one of the compromises. Thus, especially as the pace of the mediation has slowed, I have posted a possible resolution that echoes the sentiment of the quick agreement. Please post a statement of agreement or disagreement to the resolution as soon as you are able, preferably within the next five (or seven) days. If after a reasonable period of time there is a general consensus on the resolution, the request for mediation may be closed (even if a few of the parties have not posted their statements). -- tariqabjotu 17:07, 3 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Based on the agreements and disagreements we may still have edit warring on Chemmani mass grave the article. If that is so should we take itto arbitration ? Taprobanus 19:02, 3 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
The Arbitration Committee rarely hears cases regarding content disputes and focuses instead on actions of editors. However, persistent edit warring is conduct which the committee may hear. If that does occur, depending on the severity of the conduct, anyone can seek a request for arbitration. -- tariqabjotu 19:09, 3 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia:Template substitution edit

When using certain template tags on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:uw-test1}} instead of {{uw-test1}}. I was holding off further discussion in this mediation until the outcome of the deletion debate on Commons. Commercial use of Image:S raveendranath vc.jpeg edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:S raveendranath vc.jpeg, by Sarvagnya (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:S raveendranath vc.jpeg has a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission, which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3). While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, this is in fact not the case[1][2]. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because content on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial. See our non-free content guidelines for more more information.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:S raveendranath vc.jpeg itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. If you have any questions about what to do next or why your image was nominated for speedy deletion please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thanks. --Android Mouse Bot 2 02:40, 11 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use Image:S_raveendranath_vc.jpeg edit

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:S_raveendranath_vc.jpeg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. B 04:03, 11 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
