Orphaned non-free media (File:Panel Histoire de Paris.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading File:Panel Histoire de Paris.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:00, 3 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

What neighborhood or suburban articles should I work on? edit

Do you know of any good neighborhood or suburban articles I should work on? I found info about Sarcelles so I added stuff to that article. WhisperToMe (talk) 13:08, 3 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the AARJF picture! I do think that many city neighborhoods are more interesting than suburbs. In Houston, some suburbs are getting interesting because many low income residents displaced from the inner city are moving the suburbs WhisperToMe (talk)

Thanks for finding that! I don't know why I didn't find that category before... I will link it to the page WhisperToMe (talk) 01:22, 1 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Picture request edit

Dear Tangopaso, I saw that you added a picture from Montreuil to Wiki commons. I'm looking for a picture of the bust of Alexis Lepere, who is buried on a graveyard in Montreuil, Rue Galilée. He was a popular French gardener and horticulturist, whose son traveled to Germany to construct walls to grow fruit, especially peaches, for some aristocrats, as it was tradition in Montreuil.I'm working on an article about father and son (Benutzer:Sternrenette/Alexix_Lepere) for the German Wikipedia. Would it be possible for you to make a picture of his grave and his portrait bust? Thanks in advance and greetings from Germany,--Sternrenette (talk) 08:19, 30 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi,
I will try. I am interested by botany and gardening, but I did not know Alexis Lepère. Did you see the page on French wikipedia https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murs_%C3%A0_p%C3%AAches (mur à pèches = wall for peaches). Page not in English, nor German. This is a place near the cemetery. I will take a glance. There is even a Alexi Lepère street in Montreuil !--Tangopaso (talk) 17:59, 1 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
I did it ! I created File:Alexis_Lepère_grave_(Montreuil).jpg. But the gravestone is very simple. I think that the bust that we see for example on http://fr.topic-topos.com/alexis-lepere has been removed. I created Category:Alexis Lepère with 2 photos of the street Alexis Lepère in Montreuil. I wish also to gather in a category the photos of the mur à pèches. Best regards. --Tangopaso (talk) 20:58, 2 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
Thank you very, very much! I did not expect that you would be so fast. I saw the picture of the bust on the topic-topos-page, so I expected taht it should be stil there. And thank you very much for the picture of Rue Alexis Lepère. I will use both pictures for Lepéres article and I will inform you, when I finished the first draft of the article. And I plan to write another article about the mus à pèches for the German wikipedia. Thanks again, --Sternrenette (talk) 20:52, 4 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
Hi. If it is convenient for your translation from French to German of the article murs à pêches, I should translate it from French to English (I should be unable to translate a page from German to French. Even with Google). But only in a few days. I saw the remainings of mura à pêches in Montreuil. It remains only very few. --Tangopaso (talk) 10:15, 5 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
Done!
Hello Tangopaso, I just finished the article about Alexis Lepère. I found really a lot about him and his son Alexis Lepère, fils, who travelled a lot in Germany to build walls to grow peaches. It was a very intersting topic and I'm planning another article for the German Wikipedia about the Murs à pêches. Thank you again for the pictures, I used them in the article. Kind regards from Germany, --Sternrenette (talk) 15:22, 31 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Castle model edit

I'll review the FOP criteria for the relevant country. If I can find a justification for keeping it according to the FOP guidelines then I'll state what the justification is. If the FOP guidelines do not support this case I will see if there is a way to move the image to the French Wikipedia or something similar. WhisperToMe (talk) 12:16, 25 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

The nominator is saying it's subject to United States copyright. I'm not sure how/why this would be, so I will ask him about it. WhisperToMe (talk) 12:17, 25 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
I responded at Commons:Commons:Deletion requests/File:Maquette du chateau du Louvre (est).jpg. Did you take a picture of the plaques/markers accompanying this model? What do they say? I wonder if there is a way to say that this model has a "utilitarian purpose" and therefore make it in compliance with COM:UA. WhisperToMe (talk) 12:24, 25 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
@WhisperToMe:. Thanks a lot. I plan to go to the Louvre tomorrow monday. I will check if there are plaques or markers. --Tangopaso (talk) 20:07, 25 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
@WhisperToMe:. I checked today. There are no plaque or marker near the model. But I took a photo of the model with people looking to it. The model has an information or education purpose. --Tangopaso (talk) 18:35, 26 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

I want to Participate in the WikiProject France/Paris edit

Hi, I'm new here and want to contribute to Wikipedia. I'm a bit lost as well but I noticed you were part of "Wikipedia:WikiProject France/Paris". I would love to help out in any Paris related articles as I can, particularly in taking photos in Paris for various Paris related articles that have missing pictures. I would love to join the "WikiProject France/Paris" but more importantly I want to learn everything I need to know...

I'm born and live in Paris by the way and I speak fluent French as well. Hope you can help me out through chat or something outside of wikipedia.org since I have difficulty navigating the website (for now).

Thank you!

St. Peter edit

Hello! I would like to use photos you took of St. Peter's statue and foot in Rome in a book that I am working on that will be available as a print book and ebook (probably very small number of copies). How would you like me to reference you as the creator? All other photos in the book are by me. How are you? edit

Bonjour, Tangopaso! Just want to see how you and your family are doing right now.

@WhisperToMe: Fine but worring. I am confined with my darling in a small appartment in east suburb of Paris. With our cat. Our residence is in a private park with trees. While confined, I work on stock market. Here, lock down is severe and its dangerous to get out because of the virus. Impossible to visit anything. And you ? Still in Texas ? Confined ? --Tangopaso (talk) 15:43, 17 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Hey! I was in China for awhile but (after January) am now in Texas with my parents and their cat. We have a stay at home order from the state government and from the Harris County government, but we are still allowed to walk outside and go to "essential" businesses (as defined by the county). My parents and I are voluntarily choosing not to go to supermarkets or shops and instead relying on delivery and curbside pickup. We are also choosing not to buy food from restaurants, which are still open but are only doing delivery or carryout. City and county parks are open, but people must do social distancing. I'm teaching English for students in China remotely and will do so for the rest of the semester. WhisperToMe (talk) 23:09, 17 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Just an update: I am back permanently in the United States. I hope things are going well in France! WhisperToMe (talk) 21:54, 3 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Coin tray edit

Notice

The article Coin tray has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unsourced since the beginning of time. Essentially a dictionary definition. Google doesn't even seem to agree with the definition provided here, instead opting to imply that coin trays are specifically coin-only with various widths for coin counting purposes. Doesn't seem that either concept is notable, at the least.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. casualdejekyll 01:27, 11 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

2 Rue de Saint-Pétersbourg

Hi, again! I found that Ki-oon, a manga company, has its HQ at 2 rue de Saint-Pétersbourg 75008 PARIS. When you have time, that may be a good photo opportunity.

Thank you, WhisperToMe (talk) 17:31, 12 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

@WhisperToMe: Hello. I will see it --Tangopaso (talk) 20:41, 12 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
@WhisperToMe: Done! There is no information or commercial panel about the company on the building. Some years ago, I uploaded a photo of 4 Rue de Saint-Pétersbourg because there was a workshop of the impressionist painter Edouard Manet. There is a plaque. --Tangopaso (talk) 21:36, 15 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
