Speedy deletion nomination of Jean Fourton

edit

Hello Taaflb,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Jean Fourton for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Mike1901 (talk) 17:03, 22 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

On looking again, I accept that speedy deletion was probably not appropriate, and I will restore it. However, I think that there are some problems you need to address.

  • Much of the text lacks independent verifiable sources
  • You should expand the lead a bit to state why he is notable
  • The list of dates would be better formatted as prose
  • Don't use bare urls as refs or external links, format as <ref>[url description]</ref>. Also state the language of the refs if not English (as you have done with the ELs
  • Avoid giving opinions instead of facts, eg a famous French painter... this discovery is of first importance for the history and daily clinician practice of psychoanalysis

Also note that in English biographies are written in the past tense, and that "Since", unlike depuis, is also followed by a past tense verb Jimfbleak - talk to me? 15:43, 23 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
