Templates and interwiki links edit

TXiKiBoT should check that any interwiki links it adds are within <nowiki> tags; its edit to {{IMN}} [1] resulted in interwiki links being transcluded inappropriately onto a number of other pages. --Stemonitis 19:15, 17 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Same thing happened on 3 September with this edit to {{Province of Trento}}. The problem, which will have affected these pages, was spotted today and has now been fixed. —Ian Spackman (talk) 10:49, 30 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Wrong article edit

Please add the Italian foreign language version of Byzantine-Arab Wars 780 - 1180 to this article Byzantine-Arab Wars (780-1180). You have incorrectly added it to Byzantine-Arab Wars instead. Gabr-el 20:12, 12 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please check recent changes to the Girona article edit

These changes of 24 March 2009 (by 77.227.56.118) have somehow interfered with the initial Codes and all the Figures have disappeared from the Lead section (and elsewhere?). Please fix. (If I try I may make a mess of it!) Ombudswiki (talk) 03:30, 25 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Wrong interwikis edit

There is a wrong interwiki in a category about Oceania, for example if you see fr:Catégorie:Ville d'Océanie you will notice that it:Categoria:Città per continente is inappropriate for that interwiki because Città per continente is for continent and not for Oceania and therefore all interwikis with that Italian category are wrong, please correct that wrong interwikis.--Noder4 (talk) 22:26, 1 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Removal of interwiki links from English surname pages to disambiguation pages edit

Hi. I noticed you removed interwiki links from two pages I had just created: Lameth and Hammes. I've reverted these, and I think that if you look at the relevant pages you will agree that it makes sense to link them.

The problem seems to arise because the English {{surname}} is not classified as a disambiguation page. However, there is a solution to this very problem at MediaWiki talk:Disambiguationspage#Re-add_.7B.7Bsurname.7D.7D (and a long discussion). Please can you make your bot respect this solution and recognise the line "((surname))" in MediaWiki:Disambiguationspage so that such links are not removed in future.

We seem to have had the opposite problem with Sauli. Do you have a solution for this?

Northern Artsakh edit

How can we stop the bot from inserting a link to the article that was deleted? This article was deleted in the Russian wiki, and moved to a temp in case that someone wants to rework it. So we cannot link to an article that is not in the main space of the Russian wiki. Thanks. Grandmaster 12:17, 7 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Edits not being marked as a bot edits edit

A recent change to Kansas by this bot did not have the customary 'b' marking, indicating a bot driven edit (though it did mark as a minor edit). If this is really a bot, it should make changes as a bot to avoid being mistaken for a user pretending to be a bot to mask vandalism (though your edit was clearly not vandalism, it just wastes editor's time checking it). --ShadowRangerRIT (talk) 15:15, 12 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Interwiki on article on Croatian Wiki edit

Article The 69 eyes has been written on Croatian Wikipedia more than a year ago, but there is no interwiki on Eng Wiki yet! Since the article in English is semi protected, could you please add iw on article in Croatian? Thank you!

Hello once again!
The article The 69 Eyes is not protected anymore, so I've added the interwiki myself. Thanks anyway!

No hyphen in Farsi spelling of name edit

Recently a hyphen was added in Rosie Malek-Yonan's last name when spelled in Farsi. Though her last name does have a hyphen in English, when translated into Farsi, there should be no hyphen. I've removed it a few times but it appears again. Can you please help remove it. Thanks! Zayya 17:46, 4 December 2009 (UTC)

CPL Resources Plc. edit

Hi Bot, I hope your owner still reads this. I saw you edited the NL: referral from CPL Resources Plc. (which is currently a redirect) into nl:CPL Ltd. which is indeed the current Dutch article name. But as indicated on the edit where I changed this into nl:CPL Resources Plc. is there a request outstanding to completely rename CPL Ltd. into CPL Resources Plc. and by that remove the existing CPL Resources Pls. -> CPL Ltd.

When this request is done the current link in the EN article will be pointing to a #redirect.

Thats why I already changed it and noted it when making the change. That's also one of the problems I have with most bots around: although they do a lot of good work and we can't probably do without them anymore - but they are not flexible enough to handle exceptions.

I don't know if there is a way to edit something and give it a status that a robot won't be able to make changes or at least the robot-owner will get a warning that his bot tried to edit something and was stopped from doing it. The owner could then check out what/why this was done and decide to perform the changes anyway (but only with manual given 'override') or to keep everything 'as is. A little the same as a robo.txt file on a webbpage telling Spidering robots which pages NOT to index in searchengines.

If you are aware of any such functionality (or any project on this subject) please send me the details.

Review request edit

Hi there! Could you, please, investigate the reasons behind this edit? The bot removed an interwiki article which was pointing to a correct equivalent in the French Wikipedia, and the French article still has an interwiki link pointing back to the English article. Reinsertion of wrong interwikilinks edit

Hi, with this edit your bot reinserted two wrong interwikilinks I removed from the diglyceride article. These interwikilinks are to articles about 1,2-diacylglycerol, a subset of the group of chemicals called diglycerides (or diacylglycerols). In other words, the interwikilinks are to articles about a related but not identical subject. I'd like to avoid edit warring with bots, so would it be possible for you to stop the bot from doing this again? Thanks, Sakkura (talk) 14:14, 28 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Salanoia durrelli edit

You removed my addition of the THREE not mentioned institutions, which described the species. This removal is biased and unjustified. The species is described by Durrell (WCT), Natural History Museum in London, Conservation International and Nature Heritage. Check out the paper and also the recent press releases. I am actually a co-author of the paper. Thus, I amended the entry by adding the justified links to ALL organisations instead of only DWCT. Moreover, you removed the addition that one animals was killed. Read the paper! It is a citation. By removing the addition, you have biased the the content of the description by pretending that all animals were released. They were NOT. Therefore, I rewets that you leave the additions as they are. ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Corinne Lamberth Paper edit

Hello, I saw you contributed to the Aquaphilia(fetish) article back in 2007 and am wondering if you have access to the paper by Corinne Lamberth from 1998 on the psychology of the subject. I would also be very interested in getting an insight into the "Aquaphiles Journal" by Phil Bolton – maybe there is a Link I can feed the Wayback Machine?
