Natalie thomas witnessed first-hand the devastation of severe weather while living in North Carolina when Hurricane Katrina hit. "It is amazing how weather, more than anything else, can have such an immediate impact on people's everyday lives." Natalie remembers being amazed by the strength of her community as many people banded together to help out in the aftermath. "When Katrina hit, I remember everyone doing anything they could. I took part in fundraisers and a blood drive, and many of my classmates drove to New Orleans." Born and raised in Southern Ontario, Natalie spent four years at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. She earned a degree in Broadcasting with a perfect 4.0 GPA. She also managed to find some time in between all of that studying to play NCAA Division 1 basketball for the ASU Mountaineers. Training as an athlete at an elevation of over 3,000 feet was great for conditioning. "Other teams would come to play us, and they'd find it really hard to run in the thin air!" Previously, Natalie interned at CBS channel 4 in Boston with the Investigative Reporting Team, and anchored the 5pm news program at Rogers Television in Kitchener.

Speedy deletion nomination of Nicole Cartic

edit

A tag has been placed on Nicole Cartic requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Nicole Karkic requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

Please note that references on Wikipedia must be to real reliable media sources. Her own resumé does not count as a source, and neither does her profile on the Weather Network's web page — the only acceptable sources are real coverage of her (newspapers, magazine articles, etc.) in media not published by Nicole herself or by her employer.
