Welcome to the Wikipedia. Your additions have been reverted at the TAMS article because Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information. Also, this is the second reversion of your addition of the fire alarm information. This is something that happens anywhere where there is a large student population living in a community setting. Please do not add back this information without first discussing on the talk page. Thanks. -Scm83x 00:00, 29 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Hey. THanks for doing the right thing and talking to me on my user talk page. I really appreciate your being bold and adding this new information to the page. But, some of it should stay and some should go.
  • The specific courses requirements aren't necessary, instead of listing the courses, I would list the subjects (biology, trig, compsci, etc.)
  • The exact policy on electives isn't necessary here, maybe just say "The number of electives a student is allowed to take depends on their GPA".
  • In the Administrators section, some of the writing is very colloquial and you should re-read what you wrote and consider "If I knew nothing about the school and was reading this for the first time, how muhc of this would I really find relevant?" Delete anything that isn't relevant.
  • Traditions must be with a lowercase t per Wikistyle
  • I don't think that your assessment of the Student Body section is coming from the neutral point of view, something that we strive for here. Please review what you wrote and consider what sort of bias may be expressed in any of the statements. Remove those biased statements and consider coming at each point with a more even "On the one hand... but on the other hand" approach.
  • Finally and most importantly, you must cite everything that you write. You have written a lot of new things into the article with very specific information. We need citations here on the Wiki to keep everyone happy and make sure that we've got our facts straight.
I look forward to reading your improved version of the article later tonight. I am heading out for the evening, but I look forward to editing with you in the future! -Scm83x 00:49, 29 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
Great job on shifting around what you added to the page and adding more and generally just making the article better. I did an edit this evening that removed some of the admin information that was sort of a diretory listing, which is something we discourage here. Also, I shifted around and combined some of the sections to eliminate some of the one sentence paragraphs and one paragraph sections that you had in the article. Generally you try to avoid those things in any writing. Finally, I eliminated some info about the prom and homecoming planning. In any high school article on Wikipedia, it is my belief that you have to provide reason why this school is different than others, not the same. Nearly every HS in America has a prom planned by the StuCo and an afterProm party. However, it should simply be noted here that even though you're on a college campus, you still get to have a prom and a homecoming (because that's something people may not realize). Do you see what I mean? :-)
Take a whack at the calligraphy article. It looks pretty... not so great. If you know about the subject, be bold and make the big changes! That's how I started. I made edits about Plano, Texas and UT Austin because that's what I knew. Now I make a lot of edits, but still, I try to stay close to the things I know best. My favorite article that I've written is The West Wing, which is now a featured article. Write about things that you feel passionately about and that you know you can write well and you'll always have fun and write great material. I think that calligraphy would eventually make an excellent candidate for featured article. Get to work! ;-)
If you need anything, feel free to comment again on my talk page. I wanted to thank you again for coming to talk to me about your edits. I hope that, when you're a very experienced user, you remember still what it was like to be a "newbie" and will treat "newbies" with kindly. The world can always use more civility. Best of luck! -Scm83x 10:15, 29 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Calligraphy

edit

It looked like spam to me. Adam Bishop 23:34, 5 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

It doesn't seem very detailed...maybe linking it from the calligraphy article would be okay, but not individual scripts (when you don't even have any info about them anyway). Adam Bishop 13:59, 8 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
