Wikipedia policy is very clear that the official toponym names OF THE TIME are to be used. Azzam was born in 1927, and Israel was not established until over 2 decades later, so it is completely inappropriate to say she was born in Israel. For example, for people born in present-day Saint Petersburg in 1950, we indicate their place of birth as Leningrad, RSFSR, Soviet Union, (the proper name used at the time) NOT Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation.
