smiley

Would you mind removing the smiley from your sig? It has already led to completely avoidable disconcertment here, and it also looks really really awkward e.g. here. Everyme 06:21, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

...OK - although I was only trying to promote WP:WIKILOVE. Given the diffs you posted above, I have to ask: Do you mind me placing a smiley before my sig (in the same style as now) in most places, except in places where it probably isn't such a good idea? Or do you just want me to get rid of it completely, and forget all about WP:WIKILOVE. I always thought that smiling at people helped promote kindness in a calm editing environment, but yes, I do agree that some places smileys can be reasonably inappropriate. Hum yes, the option occured to me and I was trying to think of a possible solution, but the best I could think of was to create two different sigs and subst: one of them from userspace, not very practical. An alternative would be to place the smiley after your username. That way, at least the ambiguity as to whether or not it's a part of your comments would be eliminated.

If you ask my personal opinion tastewise, I'd argue that positive words like love or peace, linked e.g. to WP:WIKILOVE, would be a lot less problematic than a smiley. If you wanna go hot wild, you could even combine that with an numberofedits randomiser a lá east718 and have a random positive word pop up each time with your sig. (To expand a bit on why I personally am not too fond of smileys: They really say nothing about the person using them. A simple word like love or peace does, and quite powerfully so.) I finally have been given the privilege to be able to upload photos! I recently did so for the Massive Monkee page that i had been working on(MMlogoreal.jpeg): Unfortunately though (and after multiple attempts) i am still unable to replace the "NO FREE IMAGE" picture on the page. How does one go about doing so? Your assistance would be greatly appreciated...

Speedy delete

Delsy article was needed to check what it was - youve wiped it - we have a serious issue with new eds arts in the Indonesian project as to whether they are copyvios or not - it was not advertising - and I was trying to check it so we could trace what is going on - trust you are able to help - having something like that speedied is very unhelpful but I have not had the opportunity to put the right challenges to that SatuSuro 11:27, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

SatuSuro ask me to look at it, the article was Delsy Syamsumar, I was wondering how it met WP:CSD#G11 "Blatant advertising for a product or entity" when its an article about a deceased painter(artist), movie director who won international award as an art director in 1962(Asian Film Festival, Tokyo). IMHO this should have gone to AfD for discussion to see if sources could be found. I do note that SatuSuro has some concerns as whether it may have been a copy vio anyway I'll leave it up to you as to what happen next. Gnangarra 13:40, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

sorry, forget all that apparently its a computer translation off the Indonesian Wikipedia the article there was created in march 2006. searching further I found this source dated 2004 which matches the id.wiki article so its sourced from a copy vio. Gnangarra 13:52, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

Hello, I just posted an article (and it's not finished yet) this afternoon, it's called "Microsoft Mobile Tug of War" and you delete it. I really need to post it in wikipedia because this is my group project that is due Monday.You said it was deleted because of (Blatant advertising for a product or entity (CSD G11)) . This article is actually not about Microsoft Advertising. We just analyze Microsoft challenges and strategies in the past few years, explain how the competitive landscape change. Is there anyway that I can get it posted it wikipedia? Please...This is my group project.I really need it to be up. Or maybe you can give me some feedback. I would really appreciate it. Hello, I've got a small question about Wiki: Does how much time a user has been on Wikipedia play a significant role in whether that person can apply (and subsequently get) admin status? acct creator

stwalkerster, you gave me access to the account creator tool and i'm trying to create an account for a user. the user is requesting the username "Burnt_toast", but is unable to create it because it's too similar to "Burnt toast." User:Burnt_toast is the same as User:Burnt toast - you sure you're spelling is correct? Also, if an account already exists, no-one can create it.
