Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to West Town, Chicago with this edit. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate may links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. DVdm (talk) 19:41, 3 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to West Town, Chicago with this edit. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Thank you. DVdm (talk) 19:49, 3 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Note - Please read our policy about external links, specially the part wp:ELNO. Thanks and cheers - DVdm (talk) 19:50, 3 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

This is your last warning. You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize a page, as you did with this edit to User talk:DVdm. DVdm (talk) 19:53, 3 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Adding link to West Town and Ukrainian Village, Chicago

I am trying to add a link about a neighborhood group, but its keeps getting denied. To verify the importance of this group, there are combined over 1200 neighbors involved who work together to promote community safety and community building. There should be a link on both pages because areas that we cover are referred to neighbors as both areas of Ukrainian Village and West Town. To also verify the impact, here is an NBC story on us--> http://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/unit-5-community-neighborhood-watch-social-media-147237945.html Please allow for this link to be added -- > * Ukrainian Village Neighborhood Watch

Importance of community group

edit

This is not an attempt at promotion for promotions sake, this is a helpful group that no one makes a penny from. It is community building, volunteer based, and should be included as a resource in the communities it works with. Sorry for not being aware of how to edit this page, i am a simple human who barely understands what HTML is.

Hi. Unless the importance of the group is established in the article and backed by reliable third party sources (see wp:RS), adding a link to this is inappropriate per wp:ELNO. Please have a look at wp:COI as well. I have added a few pointers to our basic policies at the beginning of your talk page. Hope this helps. - DVdm (talk) 20:02, 3 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
