Speedy deletion nomination of SurfRap

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on SurfRap, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think that your page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. NawlinWiki (talk) 16:16, 22 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

A tag has been placed on SurfRap requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

Proposed deletion of Stephane Cohen

edit

Hello, Stephanecohen20. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Stephane Cohen, for deletion because it's a biography of a living person that lacks references. If you don't want Stephane Cohen to be deleted, please add a reference to the article.

If you don't understand this message, you can leave a note on my talk page.

Thanks, —KuyaBriBriTalk 17:08, 22 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Not for promotion

edit

"We are working on arranging serious PR for the brand. When it is done, they will takeover all the internet marketing and wikipedia page in making it look more presentable to the world. Please, we ask you not to delete it. "SurfRap" is an extremely original idea and we know people are going to start trying to use it and put twists on it. Regardless, they wont get far because we own every copyright and trademark that has to do with it. We would greatly appreciate if you work with us in leaving it available and viewable to the world" - from your post on a deleted talk page. Sorry, no, this is not the place for promoting your idea. (Getting a PR firm to look after a Wikipedia page is also not a good idea - they mostly cannot use the neutral tone we require.) Please read WP:SPAM about advertising and promotion in connection with Wikipedia, and WP:COI about conflict of interest - editing on subjects you have a close connection with. Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia, and not social media or a directory. Please note also that you do not 'own' a Wikipedia page as you do on those web places. Here, anyone (who is not blocked or banned) can edit. We do not have articles about the up and coming - we record the arrived (and the past-it). While I wish you success with your project, now is not the time for a Wikipedia presence - and I would advise you to make this clear to any PR people you hire. When the time is right, and you are too busy to worry about articles, someone will have made an article for you. Good luck, and we may see you here again with a discography (and proper references WP:RS without which no article is safe...). Peridon (talk) 18:08, 22 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
