Hey Sam! edit

Hey Sam, it's Jared, testing out the Talk pages. Hope you're enjoying the class so far! I'm excited to learn more about your final project :) --Byjaredbrown (talk) 16:36, 9 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Checking in edit

Greetings!

I've taken a look at your work on User:Sshockley1/Flourless chocolate cake. A few updates:

  • I moved the page and reassigned things in the WikiEd dashboard. The short version is that you had assigned yourself Flourless Chocolate Cake' (title case) when the article itself is Flourless chocolate cake (sentence case). Wikipedia is case sensitive. ;) No big deal.
  • In general, I think your work looks good and I think you can start moving these changes over to the "live" version as soon as you're ready. You seem to have figured this out!
  • I'd encourage you to not only add new content but spend a bit more time and effort editing (and improving!) the content left by others. Can you add citations/references for uncited claims? Can you improve the tone? And so on. Be Bold!

In general, this all looks great! —mako 21:26, 20 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Flourless cake peer review edit

Hey Sam, the Flourless chocolate cake article is looking great! Here are my thoughts upon review:

The lede: The additions about diet and cultural considerations are great. Very even tone. Do you have a source for this or plans to expand in a new section? "Its origins cannot be confirmed but there are several stories about how it was discovered." Curious because I'd be interested in learning more and you might consider removing it if there's no additional information available.

Body content: The addition about types of cocoa is very informative. Adding a reference about Jewish cuisine is great. Also liked how you added context about quinoa. Same goes for the gluten-free section. Glad you found a reference for the fine dining section. Overall the tone in the body is very even and objective. I am curious if there are any sources covering all of the chain restaurants that offer lava cakes and why that became a trend.

References: These look thorough and diverse. Byjaredbrown (talk) 23:27, 21 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your feedback Jared! I'll definitely look into those and I'm still trying to find a reliable source for the silly story that was made up about the origin of the cake.

Peer feedback edit

I saw that you moved around your peer reviews so that they were linked from the "Right" place in the dashboard. As you saw with your own feedback, the feedback came in some pretty different ways. As far as I'm concerned, whatever you do can work as long people get the message. :) So it's all good! —mako 05:55, 30 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
