Maybe you can help me then. According to WP:PLOTSUM, references to the primary source are allowed in plot summaries. How else would the plot summary be written if not from an account of someone who saw it? Specialsam110 (talk) 16:11, 18 April 2023 (UTC)

Hi @Specialsam110. That's a how to guide, which doesn't have even guideline status, whereas Wikipedia:No original research is policy. As one option, you could use published reviews, which frequently address elements of the plot Star Mississippi 16:17, 18 April 2023 (UTC)

Maybe I should have cited MOS:PLOTSOURCE, which appears to say the same thing? The primary source is the source for a plot summary.

I've edited countless plot summaries before and never had to cite anything. The plot summary for Hamilton (musical) has no citations. Nor does the summary for Oklahoma!. Most reviews are written to avoid spoiling things so it's absurd to say that they could be sources for a plot summary. Full summaries of films are posted hours after their Thursday night previews. What you added was, by your own admission, original research based on your viewing of the show. I think PLOTSOURCE leans toward more of a summary, not two full unsourced paragraphs. Hi Specialsam110! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at The Rocky Horror Picture Show that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism.
