The Celtic Tenors

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Celtic Tenors a different title by copying its content and pasting it into The Celtic Tenors. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other articles that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Please rethink your approach to CSD You said:

The article in question did have content, so the first was not correct. The second part is not a valid CSD rationale, and incorrect. Not to mention unnecessarily insulting.--SPhilbrick(Talk) 11:51, 19 June 2012 (UTC)

Yes and no. You are right, I got the "no content" part wrong, however looking back I believe the article qualified for CSD under "no context".

"Articles lacking sufficient context to identify the subject of the article. Example: "He is a funny man with a red car. He makes people laugh." This applies only to very short articles. Context is different from content, treated in A3, below. Caution is needed when using this tag on newly created articles."

I did mistake this for no content, however I believe that article did not have any context.

Furthermore, "this person is not important" is certainly a valid criteria for CSD.

"An article about a real person, individual animal(s), organization or web content that does not indicate why its subject is important or significant."

The article certainly failed in that respect.

And finally, if you look, the page is now deleted, and looking at the log, they cited A7, which is the latter quote about not being important.

The languages that evolved from the dialect continuum along the North Sea that English evolved from, are not known as the Anglo-Frisian languages. The dialects of this former continuum evolved into English on the British Isles, and into Frisian and Low German (far more) on the continent.
