Padmanabh Singh
I suspect that in the next few minutes an anon is going to go over 3RR at Padmanabh Singh. They're already at three attempts, despite the inline note + comment on the talk page. I think this will keep happening for a while because Singh's staff have been involved. Might end up needing a bit of semi-protection. - Sitush (talk) 08:17, 3 August 2017 (UTC)
This is obviously one or other of his staff - see here. Previously, it has been a named account. - Sitush (talk) 08:18, 3 August 2017 (UTC)
[1] is another, from a couple of days ago. - Sitush (talk) 09:48, 3 August 2017 (UTC)
- I saw that one too but I left that for the moment as it had other caste interests, perhaps an SPI as there are loads of other SPAs in the history? cheers. —SpacemanSpiff 09:50, 3 August 2017 (UTC)
- OK, ta. I don't think SPI will achieve much. Some of the historical ones are already blocked and others are, well, too historical or were making only minor changes. OTOH, it might be worth opening a case just for those since Ctpalace, naming that as the master. Then there is the possibility of a CU for sleepers and a formal record for the future. What do you think? - Sitush (talk) 09:55, 3 August 2017 (UTC)
- I think a few accounts will likely come up, especially if that caste one is linked to this. —SpacemanSpiff 09:58, 3 August 2017 (UTC)
Event-driven marketing
Hi there,
Permission for the contents of Event-driven marketing has been received (Ticket:2017072110006026), so the revdel can be undone. I will leave it down to your judgement, and the other editors involved, as to whether the content is appropriate for the article. For OTRS, Mdann52 (talk) 17:10, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
- @Mdann52: I've undeleted, I have no interest in the article, only came by when it was tagged, so I'll send this over to COIN or to Bri for checking the spamminess. —SpacemanSpiff 23:44, 1 August 2017 (UTC) —SpacemanSpiff 23:46, 1 August 2017 (UTC)
- Redirected to section of Marketing. Will return if somebody has a problem with that. Is it permitted to know who submitted the OTRS or is that secret squirrel stuff? ☆ Bri (talk) 00:41, 2 August 2017 (UTC)
- @Bri:, The content was copied from the website of Eventricity, a look at the contributing author's user page might be helpful in answering your question: User:Mark Holtom cheers —SpacemanSpiff 02:04, 2 August 2017 (UTC)
- I thought that might be it, as the site was referenced 4x and nothing else more than once. Thanks for confirmation. ☆ Bri (talk) 02:17, 2 August 2017 (UTC)
- Understood - as the deleting admin, It's you who gets first refusal on doing so.
- @Bri: all I can say publicly is that it was the copyright holder who did so. Mdann52 (talk) 18:57, 4 August 2017 (UTC)

So now I've been reverted which I'd hoped wouldn't happen, though not surprised. I guess the next step is COIN unless somebody has a better idea. ☆ Bri (talk) 22:25, 4 August 2017 (UTC)
- I got a screed of bovine excrement via email from the user who seems pissed off that their company is not being given free publicity on Wikipedia and some nonsense attacking me personally, the user is clearly not here to contribute to the encyclopaedia in any manner other than promoting their business, perhaps some other admin can take action (given the absurd email, I don't wish to take any action) cheers —SpacemanSpiff 23:37, 4 August 2017 (UTC)
- RegentsPark reverted the revert. We can hope that this is done. ☆ Bri (talk) 17:46, 5 August 2017 (UTC)

I have no connections
I have no connection with any newspaper. That quote was made by N. Murali one of the Directors of The Hindu and written that farewell letter here as well and also here and this in addition to the The Times of India. Tintin456 (talk) 21:26, 5 August 2017 (UTC)
- THat's not how you're behaving, it's clear that you are here to promote one at the expense of the other, including falsifying quotes, if this continues then you will be blocked. —SpacemanSpiff 23:21, 5 August 2017 (UTC)
- Excuse me falsifying quotes N. Murali one of the Directors of The Hindu has clearly stated here rich tradition of credibility, objectivity, balance and editorial primacy had of late been compromised as per The Times of India ,I do not get why you are removing sourced information form Times of India here a reliable source .I stop from editing this articles ,I have no connection with any newspaper. Please do not remove sourced information .The same letter has also been published in other media outlets given above.Tintin456 (talk) 02:23, 6 August 2017 (UTC)

Block notice
Even when the unblock request is profane? I couldn't find anything about being required to keep it for a specific amount of time, hence why I thought it would be fine to replace. Garchy (talk) 02:46, 6 August 2017 (UTC)
- There's no reason to, if I'd thought it was out of the normal realm when I declined the unblock request, I would have removed it. —SpacemanSpiff 02:51, 6 August 2017 (UTC)
- Besides, that particular notice is usually reserved for admins. Isn't it?... Shearonink (talk) 02:54, 6 August 2017 (UTC)
- Actually, I don't think so, it's just a template - but the blocking is certainly reserved for those with the power to do so. Garchy (talk) 07:21, 6 August 2017 (UTC)

Need your help / guidance
Dear SpacemanSpiff This is with regard to your feedback on Powai_Bengali_Welfare_Association, I have seen all the messages posted by you and appreciate your feedback. Most of them are genuine mistakes as I am doing this for the first time
I need your help and guidance a) I do not represent Powai_Bengali_Welfare_Association...I do not know anybody there personally, however I have been to many of their programs and events and liked their work. I have found more than 20 media mentions from credible sources about their work. b) I am a beginner at Wikipedia and have tried to improve their Page, but it appears I am making several mistakes c) Can I request you to pl revert any of the changes that I have made, but not delete their wiki page due to any errors made by me d) Can you pl leave me messages on talk page of Powai_Bengali_Welfare_Association on what all I can do to help improve the Page Requesting your further guidance pl Thanks Sneharika23 Sneharika23 (talk) 16:06, 6 August 2017 (UTC)
- @Sneharika23:That's not what you said earlier. Either way, Wikipedia is not a free advertorial venue for the organization, please read WP:GNG, WP:V, WP:NPOV, WP:COI etc along with the links provided in the welcome message on your talk page. —SpacemanSpiff 03:32, 7 August 2017 (UTC)

Kobi Arad is back again
Since Kobi Arad and Kobi Arad (musician) have both been salted, our friend has now popped up at Yakob K. Arad. I've placed three different speedy deletion templates on the page – overkill perhaps, but I'm not sure any of them is exactly right in this case. --Deskford (talk) 16:07, 10 August 2017 (UTC)
- Ah, this one has now been deleted and salted too. @Seraphimblade: thanks for your swift action! --Deskford (talk) 16:14, 10 August 2017 (UTC)
- I'm away for a few more days, but glad to see that this has been handled. cheers. —SpacemanSpiff 09:16, 15 August 2017 (UTC)
Possible sock
Hi, think 199.214.60.134 (talk · contribs) is a sock of blocked sockpuppet 68.151.25.115 (talk · contribs) as they have just reprodded four of the articles prodded by 68.151.25.115, Anne-Marie Helder, Iain Jennings, Bryan Josh and Catch the Spirit - The Complete Anthology, thanks Atlantic306 (talk) 18:27, 14 August 2017 (UTC)
- Atlantic306, I'm away for a few more days and I'm not familiar with this mess and I think the IP is dynamic so a block now isn't going to be of much help, since it's a CU block of the original and Bbb23 isn't available, I think GeneralizationsAreBad may be able to help here. cheers. —SpacemanSpiff 09:20, 15 August 2017 (UTC)

China-India stuff
Adam4math (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log)
Hi Spaceman, An apparent SPA has been adding essentially the same content on China-India dispute in multiple articles without any concern for WP:NPOV and WP:WEIGHT considerations: China-India border standoff, China-India relations, Gipmochi, Doklam and edit-warred with multiple editors in the process. I had been working on the Doklam article for a while, and his edits overwrote mine. Efforts to engage with him on the talk page Talk:Doklam#1960s and Talk:Doklam#UNDUE_commentaries produced no response. Can you have a word with him? Pinging RegentsPark as well. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 12:21, 16 August 2017 (UTC)
- Spiff is pretty much inactive at present, Abecedare has been absent for some time and RegentsPark isn't doing much. Nor, for that matter, is Bishonen. And Boing! said Zebedee is also away for a bit. We're desperately short of uninvolved admins who frequent the Indic topic area and actually do admin stuff, rather than just hold the bit. You may have to take this somewhere else. - Sitush (talk) 12:28, 16 August 2017 (UTC)
- Vanamonde93? At the moment, some cautioning by an admin is all that is needed. I will take him to ANI if things get out of hand. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 14:32, 16 August 2017 (UTC)
- Left a note, let's see what good it will do. Vanamonde (talk) 16:15, 16 August 2017 (UTC)

Merger discussion for Monotypic taxon and Monospecificity
Articles that you have been involved in editing—Monotypic taxon and Monospecificity—have been proposed for merging with another article. If you are interested, please participate in the merger discussion. Thank you. Nessie (talk) 16:22, 17 August 2017 (UTC)
Sock or not?
Hi, I noticed that some large scale additions to Maratha Empire and Mughal Empire were made by the same editor who appears to be adding Bengal-related content to multiple articles. I also noticed that they've been pushing/linking to Bengal Subah a lot and that article's history appears to be sock-city. One of the masters involved is Bazaan while another is Barthateslisa. I'm not sure what the etiquette in such matters is as I've only reported obvious socks before. The user in question has been around since Feb 2016 and I notice that a CU was performed on the Bazaan account in October 2016. However, in the investigation archives, another user has noted that Bazaan is known to regularly make 1000-byte edits which kinda fits in with this user too. Moreover, until recently they were mostly working on music and film related articles. This shift to history-related articles is rather abrupt. Should I report this? Cheers.—Cpt.a.haddock (talk) (please ping when replying) 17:15, 14 August 2017 (UTC)
- I'm unavailable for a few more days, asking RegentsPark to look at this as he's as familiar with Bazaan as I am. —SpacemanSpiff 08:59, 15 August 2017 (UTC)
- On the face of it, it is possible. Could you compile a case with behavioral evidence in an SPI? --regentspark (comment) 13:50, 15 August 2017 (UTC)
- @RegentsPark: Done I'm not terribly familiar with Bazaan's oeuvre. But I've done my best. Please have a look and let me know if I've missed anything. Thanks.—Cpt.a.haddock (talk) (please ping when replying) 19:24, 15 August 2017 (UTC)
- I've been staring at this for a bit but can't make up my mind. Hopefully Spiff will return and do a better job. Sorry! --regentspark (comment) 19:46, 17 August 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks, RegentsPark. I see that the SPI is still stuck on "More info req. (CU)" from the Farabi1994 case. Will a clerk refresh this at some point or should I ping a CU or clerk about it? And I don't know how you guys do it, but I'm now seeing socks everywhere :| The latest is Dona-Hue and a spoonerism account, Yoonadue, who both have a penchant for Hinduism and inaccurate Maratha maps.—Cpt.a.haddock (talk) (please ping when replying) 12:58, 22 August 2017 (UTC)
- I've answered DQ's question on the conflicting diffs, I seem to have gotten WP:INVOLVED with Dona-hue after my warning to them, asked Bishonen to look at it, and the account is blocked now, so that should be settled I guess. —SpacemanSpiff 15:11, 23 August 2017 (UTC)
