Warning on creating invalid AfDs

From you, mostly. You're creating all kinds of extra work for people due to your various pointless edits, as well as half-creating AfDs without asking anyone to help you. The latter would be a moot point if you would create an account so you could do it all yourself. Yes, pointless. It would be far better for everyone if you simply created an account. Hey there - to complete an AFD as an unregistered user, after you post your reasons on the talk page of the article, you must post at Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion and ask someone to complete the AFD nomination for you. --122.108.141.214 (talk) 02:41, 28 June 2017 (UTC)

The instructions at [{WP:AFD]] actually say nothing about posting on the article's talk page. Instead they direct unregistered users to Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion. That is where the rationale for deletion is provided. If you can post on the article's talk page, there is no reason why you can't post where you are supposed to. Posting where you are supposed to ensures that the notice will receive attention, and multiple editors can decide whether AfD is warranted. Some of your nominations have been invalid. It's very blink-and-you'll-miss-it, but the instructions do tell unregistered people to post the reasons on the talk page and then asking for help completing the nomination. Indeed, you are correct. However, you may as well just post at Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion. Why this editor is content to carry out two steps, but not the third, is a mystery. ok, i see the problem. when adding afds, Template:Article for deletion/dated shows up: "Unregistered users placing this tag on an article cannot complete the deletion nomination and should leave detailed reasons for deletion on Template talk:Article for deletion/dated. If the nomination is not completed and no message is left on the talkpage, this tag may be removed.". if the 'instructions' would be made identical, this "confusion" would be resolved.68.151.25.115 (talk) 11:33, 29 June 2017 (UTC)
