Welcome! edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions so far. I hope you like the place and decide to stay.

You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but if you wish to acquire additional privileges, you can simply create a named account. It's free, requires no personal information, and lets you:

If you edit without using a named account, your IP address (68.151.25.115) is used to identify you instead.

I hope that you, as a new Wikipedian, decide to continue contributing to our project: an encyclopedia of human knowledge that anyone can edit. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, or you can click here to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. We also have an intuitive guide on editing if you're interested. By the way, please make sure to sign and date your talk page comments with four tildes (~~~~).

Warning on creating invalid AfDs edit

Per this edit: Create an account, then. It's a lot less hassle for you, and keep most people from knowing exactly where you are. It's a privacy thing, and gives you a bunch of useful tools as well. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 04:03, 27 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

not sure where the hassle is coming from..68.151.25.115 (talk) 04:05, 27 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
From you, mostly. You're creating all kinds of extra work for people due to your various pointless edits, as well as half-creating AfDs without asking anyone to help you. The latter would be a moot point if you would create an account so you could do it all yourself. We're all volunteers here, but we are not here to serve your every need because you can't be bothered to create an account. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 04:18, 27 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
pointless? and, why not just make it a policy so that ips cant nominate articles for deletion?68.151.25.115 (talk) 04:20, 27 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
Yes, pointless. It would be far better for everyone if you simply created an account. You'd then be able to create a list of articles you watch and edit frequently, you wouldn't ever get anyone else's messages on your talk page (since this one is a dynamic IP, subject to change at any time), and quite a number of other benefits (follow the link to find out more). ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 04:35, 27 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
youve made your point now stop the snide remarks68.151.25.115 (talk) 04:40, 27 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
These guys are jerks. Don't listen to them!

Hey there - to complete an AFD as an unregistered user, after you post your reasons on the talk page of the article, you must post at Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion and ask someone to complete the AFD nomination for you. --122.108.141.214 (talk) 02:41, 28 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

my experience is that someone will come along and complete it. is that so bad?68.151.25.115 (talk) 17:52, 28 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
It would expedite the afds and avoid people removing them, as they have been. --122.108.141.214 (talk) 19:18, 28 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
The instructions at [{WP:AFD]] actually say nothing about posting on the article's talk page. Instead they direct unregistered users to Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion. That is where the rationale for deletion is provided. If you can post on the article's talk page, there is no reason why you can't post where you are supposed to. Posting where you are supposed to ensures that the notice will receive attention, and multiple editors can decide whether AfD is warranted. Some of your nominations have been invalid. "Not enough citations" is not really justification for deleting an article. --AussieLegend () 07:37, 29 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
It's very blink-and-you'll-miss-it, but the instructions do tell unregistered people to post the reasons on the talk page and then asking for help completing the nomination. "If you are unregistered, you should complete step I, note the justification for deletion on the article's talk page, then post a message at Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion requesting that someone else complete the process." --122.108.141.214 (talk) 07:52, 29 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
Indeed, you are correct. However, you may as well just post at Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion. Why this editor is content to carry out two steps, but not the third, is a mystery. Actually, it's only 1.5 steps. the justifications that he provides are somewhat lacking in substance. --AussieLegend () 08:25, 29 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
ok, i see the problem. when adding afds, Template:Article for deletion/dated shows up: "Unregistered users placing this tag on an article cannot complete the deletion nomination and should leave detailed reasons for deletion on Template talk:Article for deletion/dated. If the nomination is not completed and no message is left on the talkpage, this tag may be removed.". if the 'instructions' would be made identical, this "confusion" would be resolved.68.151.25.115 (talk) 11:33, 29 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Please stop adding AfD tags to articles if you can't be bothered to make sure the discussion page will be created. It is becoming disruptive. --bonadea contributions talk 06:40, 29 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
