Henley-on-Thames

Hi, pleased to make your acquaintance. You have twice now removed additions I have made to the 'Notable people' section, and you have invited me to talk about it; perhaps you could explain the issue? Lloydmayer (talk) 07:46, 3 July 2019 (UTC)

Lloydmayer in edits to the Henley-on-Thames article you added to the 'Notable people' section people whose connections that you gave were to other nearby settlements such as Shiplake and Wargrave rather than Henley. I removed them as being off topic for Henley-on-Thames although they might be relevant to their own settlement articles. You then replaced them in this edit[1] using a misleading edit summary stating it was a minor edit and not mentioning the replacement of your text. That would have been the time to use the Henley-on-Thames talk page. On removing your additions I further reminded you that you had not sourced the changes. See WP:V. Incidentally it would have been better to use the talk page for the article rather than mine so that others interested in the Henley article could find the exchange. Best wishes.SovalValtos (talk) 08:28, 3 July 2019 (UTC)

Wellington

Hey man. I spent all day writing this, in the style of the San Francisco headlining article. It really isn't too long. Please don't revert it, okay? :) oh and by the way, southern england's nice, ay? My grandmother's from there. Apparently it's wicked.Leavepuckgackle1998 (talk) 10:34, 9 July 2019 (UTC)

Re: Wellington

Could we leave it for me to fix in the meanwhile? I can shorten the headlining article. I just want to go to bed now. Leavepuckgackle1998 (talk) 10:37, 9 July 2019 (UTC)

Re: Re: Wellington

Good news! I have trimmed it down to 658 words. I checked several articles on cities and the headliners have roughly this amount as well.Leavepuckgackle1998 (talk) 10:52, 9 July 2019 (UTC)

ACC

Honestly, I do realize that it must seem like I am overreacting to that user's actions and for that I am sorry - I actually don't want to be irrational about any of this. All I wanted to do was contribute some researched articles and edits on subjects that interest me.

This is the result of sheer exasperation after weeks of nonsense, from editing my comments in discussions after I asked them to stop to all the condescending lectures across four or five different pages now about how I just can't understand how things are done, to reading through my contributions list to report to their admin friend if I even ask another admin a question. But mostly it's just the endless passive-aggressive goading. I am well aware that anyone can edit anything we write on Wikipedia, but even they don't care THIS much about the process of how to go about changing the size of that image: they already did it once (a change they insisted was the absolute correct way to do it, I might add) and could easily have just done it again without any input; the only reason they pinged you pretending they need it discussed at length was in hopes you would pile on me with them, since they had already told the admin you were on their side.

Sorry to have bothered you, I just hate for you to think that I am unable to be objective because I have some connection to the subject or some other reason. Lilipo25 (talk) 01:57, 23 July 2019 (UTC)

Thank you for your assurance Lilipo25 that there is no connection. It is refreshing to find someone who reads a book and then follows the leads inside. I have not read the book but at least seen the modern team play, though many are not authors but have some other connection with the book trade. I will try to upload a photo to commons. Concentrate on edits rather than editors. Best wishes.SovalValtos (talk) 03:30, 23 July 2019 (UTC)
Here is a link to an image I have just uploaded which you could add to the ACC page if you think suitable.

The names I have taken from my photo of the scorebook and programme which I will not upload as a possible copyvio. They are:

Richard Beard, Anthony McGowan, Matt Thacker, Tim Beard, Chris Hemmings, Jon Hotten, Ben Falk, Nicholas Hogg, William Fiennes, Charlie Campbell, Tom Holland. in batting order of the day rather than in the team photo order.SovalValtos (talk) 10:16, 23 July 2019 (UTC)

That is awesome! Thank you for uploading a usable image! I have been working on re-writing the Penn's Creek Massacre page all week but should be done with that by tomorrow (hopefully) and will definitely upload that photo to the Authors page then.I can identify about half the players, maybe, from the photos on the book and will try to figure out who the rest are. Thank you again - amazing! Lilipo25 (talk) 04:17, 23 July 2019 (UTC)
