How to change user name

edit

I cannot change your user name, as that requires "bureaucrat" privileges, but it isn't that difficult:

  1. Click here
  2. Replace CURRENT with Someonepaki
  3. Replace NEW with Someonepakistani
  4. Replace STATE A REASON HERE with appropriate explanation, for instance: change to comply with user name policy
  5. Press Save

Then, in due course, your name will be changed. Favonian (talk) 10:48, 28 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Dude, your stuff on Lahore is awesome! Keep it up :) Mar4d (talk) 07:29, 1 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks a lot :D Check out Culture of Lahore as well. - Someonepakistani :)
We need more pics like these on Lahore. The article Lahori cuisine could do well with some pics too. See if you could get your next few camera shots on some food! Maybe try some luck with Pakistani Chinese cuisine :p Mar4d (talk) 08:32, 1 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
Sure I will. Btw, do you belong to Lahore? Oh, and, nice articles. Yes, I would surely brighten your articles by adding more pictures to them. Thanks :)- Someonepakistani
Thank you...I'm actually from Karachi and Peshawar, but I have close connections to Lahore (relatives etc.) ..I'm not the original creator of those articles but I definitely think they can be lightened up with some pics... Mar4d (talk) 08:56, 1 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Lahore Model Town

edit

I notice that after Corensearchbot left a message about the similarities between Lahore Model Town and an article you created today (Model Town, Lahore), you went and redirected the older article to your article. As you are new, I am assuming you are not aware that you should have asked for a history merge, so that the contributions of other authors are not hidden away. Also I want to make you aware that whilst images in an article are a good thing, they should not be allowed to overshadow the article. The relevant guidelines are found -> here and here. Green Giant (talk) 17:22, 1 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for telling me those points. I just read them. However, which article are you referring to?
I was referring to any article where you have added images but especially Lahore, where you have added and changed a lot of images. Green Giant (talk) 17:34, 1 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
Okay I'll remove some of the images to shorten it.

Speedy deletion nomination of Mughal Era in Lahore

edit

A tag has been placed on Mughal Era in Lahore requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
