Speedy deletion nomination of User:Solidance/sandbox

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:Solidance/sandbox, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Hello Ruy,
do I understand it correctly that you nominated my article for deletion? Well, that is not what I would have expected when I moved it out of the snadbox. I did it in order to let some experienced wikipediens review it. Review it in the sense that they woudl suggest some changes conform to standards. After all, I have dedicated some energy in creating the article in the first place. It was not intended to violate the rules or be a promotion. It was intended to be a well deserved biographical information. Thus, what would be fair is to undelete me and to let me modify the conflicting parts. Theoretically a normal and correct approach. Don't you agree? Solidance (talk) 00:55, 5 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
I also don't quite understand why the sandbox got deleted. In my opinion, the purpose of a sandobox is to prevent exactly that - deletion for errors and mistakes. The snadbox itself has a notice that the content can be published for review - there is no mention about deletion and blockage. So I have been tricked into believing that I will be treated with dignity and fairness as can be expected among likeminded people.
Yet lo and behold, things are not what they seem. I get disqualified in the first round. I feel like I woke up in communist China this morning. Solidance (talk) 01:11, 5 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Block notice

edit

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because it has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  • Provide a new username.

To do this, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page.

Hello again Deb. I totally misunderstood the purpose of the sandbox, so it seems! Sorry for that. See, I read the follwing message in the sandbox: "Finished writing a draft article? Are you ready to request a review of it by an experienced editor for possible inclusion in Wikipedia? (...) submit your draft for review."
Thus, I expected that a draft will not cause an avalanche of destructive consequences which it did. Can we do something creative together, please? Solidance (talk) 01:21, 5 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
If you want to be unblocked, you'll need to follow the instructions given above. Until you propose a new username, it won't even be considered. Deb (talk) 12:44, 5 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hello Deb.
Thanks for your kind feedback.
I am trying to find a resolutiuon. The rename request approval is pending.
Regarding the other items I would like to make the statement as requested:
I don't receive any compensation for any kind of entry.
I understand the reason for my block and I will not repeat this kind of edits.
In general terms the contributions that I intend to make if I am unblocked would be regarding the art of electronic music.
Thank you for your consideration.
Regards,
Daniel Solis

@Solidance, if you want to get a specific user's attention please see Help:Notifications. You will likely need to follow the instructions left by Deb to get your account unblocked. Specifically:

To do this, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Hope that helps. --Classicwiki (talk) If you reply here, please ping me. 22:21, 5 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for your help! I have already submitted an application for a moniker change. I am also conducting a constructive brief discussion with Deb on this topic. 156.176.255.89 (talk) 14:02, 6 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
I don't see any such application. Where and when did you submit it? Deb (talk) 15:25, 6 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hello Deb, FYI, apparently the application for a nick change was initially submitted to the wrong place. However, I have been notified that the place to do this correctly is here, indeed. (NB: The request to rename "Solidance" to "Hanoudani" could not be completed. Note from the declining user: Please first publicise your request username on the talk page on English Wikipedia, since you were blocked both for promotional username as well promotional username. Till that I cannot rename your account. Thanks for understanding. Best regards, -A09) Solidance (talk) 23:57, 9 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hello Deb,
thanks for your reply. I believed to have sent the application through a template made for this purpose, but I might have done it wrongly. I will try here as you suggested.

This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Requested username:

Request reason:

previous moniker was same as intended entry which is against the rules Solidance (talk) 00:25, 9 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

That's fine as a new username, but your username is only one small aspect of the block. Please discuss your inappropriate edits that violated WP:PROMO, WP:COI, and WP:PAID. 331dot (talk) 08:03, 9 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hello 331dot,
thanks for your kind input. I¨m trying to answer to you by editting the source as it is the only way since I am blocked. There is no conflict as in COI. PROMO can be resolved easily by removing respective elements. Thirdly, there is no payment to be disclosed. I have mentioned this before.
Hi. You don't seem to understand what you are being told. The only way you will be unblocked is if you submit another unblock request as you have previously done. This time, be sure to follow the instructions, including "Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked". At present you are still claiming not to have a conflict of interest when it is obvious that you do. The fact that you weren't paid to write the article is irrelevant in this case. If you continue to ignore the advice, you will end up being blocked from your own talk page, and then you will have to go to appeal. Deb (talk) 08:22, 11 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
